Help: g500x Turbo BRZ - Tomei 80r vs Greddy RS. Which catback should i get
Hey guys so i’m trying to figure out which 3inch single exit catback I should get.
I had been running the ARK grip catback which had 10/10 tone and liveability but was ultimately really quiet, even with the rest of the exhaust system being straight piped, which zapped some of the fun out of driving So then I switched to a used Greddy Evo 3 catback i found locally (discontinued) and it’s so bassy and boomy. It’s got a bunch of the frequencies you wouldn’t want with almost no growl until you get to 6k rpm. It’s straight boomy bass with the rest of the higher frequencies muffled out If the ark grip EQ looked like: Bass: 5 / Mids:5 /Treble:5 / Volume:4 The Greddy evo 3 would look like: Bass: 10 / Mids:7 / treble: 2 / Volume: 6 So now i’m looking to getting a 3 inch diameter single exit catback and i’m stuck between getting the greddy revo rs or tomei 80r. I’m really looking for something loud and aggressive as uposed to overly deep and lacking in higher frequencies like the greddy evo 3. I like the price point and look of the Greddy Revo RS but i’m worried it will have the same overly muffled issue of the evo 3. On the other hand i wonder if the Tomei 80R will sound super ricer honda with the equal length manifold but maybe i’m wrong. Help me out here pls, i’m open to any suggestions even dual exits. I just want something with a relatively balanced tone like the ARK Grip but with double the volume The rest of my exhaust is 2.5 inch with invidia catless non resonated front pipe, tomei overpipe and sbd turbo manifold |
