I have seen far too many of my peers pour money down the Merc, BMW, and even Porsche ratholes to venture out onto that ice. I understand the allure to an extent, and part of me would love a 911. I just haven't (and hope never do) fallen for it.

BMW and Audi have come a looooong way in the reliability game imo. Unless you're modding the shit out of them or buying a car that is basically bespoke because of how rare it is cough cough M2CS, I doubt you'll have very many reliability issues with the current BMWs/Audis rolling off the lots.

I say that with huge confidence knowing current owners of less than 4 years new vehicles, one of which sits in my driveway, an X3 that so far only needed routine maintenance as a daily driver. Still think and RDX or Blazer would be better though.

Not enough experience with Porsche or Mercedes sadly. 911s sure do look great though, especially the bright blue 911 GT3 that taunts me every other day while I try to leave my subdivision tears running down my face in my rice machine.

I do too, but that's because I have to, and throughout your life I'm going to assume the same.

Strike gold tomorrow and I still would care about costs, but for everything else but my driving experience. I'd probably be rolling around in an AMG GTR until I decided to get into an NSX.

I'd love to have an M2CS, one of my buddies just traded his Zupra on one. One of my coworkers is getting a 235i here in the next week. I think that would be a great low budget substitute.

Depends. I don't think the 235i comes even close to either the Supra or M2 in regards to suspension. It's probably alright though.

No it is not even close, but with the price difference that is an easy enough remedy. It is still plenty sporty for a street car.

I can agree. I just prefer cars being stock+ I guess vs significant aftermarket, which is what I'd consider suspension.

I get it. I am more in the looking for a nice platform and willing to modify camp.

Even with new coils and a rather tame exhaust it can still be tiresome to drive the twins. I need a new daily but I really can't justify having 3 cars... What car would you replace the twins with that has 4 doors that's still fun to drive and is reliable on a track.

Well my twin isn't even titled in my name soooo ;)

I like DD'ing a twin but like DD'ing my $2,500 TSX more lol

The suspension arms are a direct swap so you can make a 235i damn close. Throw in an LSD and a tune+intercooler and it’ll be a little demon I think. you can make the 235i faster than a stock M2CS, but OEM will almost always be more refined and less rough around the edges.

Rough around the edges is fine, just don't want the car to blow up on me and be SOL. I wouldn't be too fond of messing with engine bits unless it was an even cheaper car. Reliability is big for me.
