Best way to remove thread sealant from oil line fittings?
Hello!
I have a very small leak where the oil line goes into the adapter between the sandwich plate. I have opted to replace the line as well as the m22-AN10 adapter itself. The m22 side of the adapter going into the sandwich plate has some Permetex thread sealant on it when I last installed it. What's the best way to clean it up for the new adapter? Tooth brush? |
It's good that you're thinking gentle to start. There are gasket removal products available at auto parts stores. Problem is that they work slowly. Anything that works quickly is also super nasty.
I'd soak it in a glass or metal bowl just large enough to do the trick. Set it face down in the stuff and walk away for a while. |
