Coils vs Coilovers

I know, I know, coilovers are the best option, even more when you track your car.

The thing is, I have leased it for only 3 years....I'm not interested in paying over $1,200$ for a set of coilovers, which I will only use for what...maybe 1 full season (I'm from Quebec, which means we have winter from +- November to April).

I know there is a huge difference between both, I had coils at first on the Yaris and then, switched to cilovers, but as the FR-S has a real good handling stock, I was wondering if only some coils would be good or if it would change the whole feeling and get worst....

Has anyone tied any type of coils as of now? I just want to give it a better look, I know the car handles great anyways, but I don't want to "fuck" at the settings looolll!

there is no huge difference

the difference is whether you corner balance or not, that is the only difference.

i think for your application a set of slight lowing springs on OEM shocks will be more than fine.

If you are only keeping the car for 3 years, and really not interested in being able to adjust the suspension, and happy with the way it works now. I would save the money and go with springs for sure.

Thank you guys!! Have you any suggestions in which brand of coils should I buy? Not interested in Tein (I'm of the opinion their are way too overpriced)

Racecomp engineering once they come out. And usually people just call them springs.

stock dampers are a lot nicer than many of the ones that come with cheap coilovers. I wouldn't toss them out unless you were dropping more serious coin.

They feel nice with my Swift springs. Dare I say better ride then stock. A coworker who had only ridden in the car once felt it rode better as well.

swift springs on what? coils, or just springs.

I'd go with the RCE Yellows, if you want to align the car (which you probably should), get their starter kit that comes with the parts that will let you align your car
