Slip indicator and CEL on and off

Hi guys,

I read through the forum what ever is available. To day while driving I want the turn on my cruise control and instead of being green it showed an orange color and did not function. Together got the slip indicator and CEL. So I stared reading the forum. Turned off and 30 min later turned on again both were there. 1 mile driving and the slip indicator turned off a few miles later the CEL. I tried turn the cruise on again and they came back on.

Checked the fuses, brake is working fine (I have the 4th brake triangle light), light are ok. No other visible issue.

Don’t have an OBD scanner.

What would be your guess and what kind of scanner should I get before going to the dealer if it continues.

Is this one from Amazon something fine ?

FOXWELL NT630 Plus OBD2 Scanner ABS SRS Code Reader Automotive OBD II SRS Airbag Diagnostic and ABS Brake Bleed Scan Tool https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CSMJJK9...ing=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks

Slip indicator and CEL on and off

Hit up Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts & borrow their reader, then write down the code.

First thing to do tomorrow morning.
Should I go to the dealer with the code or is there anything that I can do with some codes ?

Thanks

Find out what the code is and then decide what action to take.
The traction control lights and lack of cruise means the car has gone into a sort of safe mode. It does not mean your issue has anything at all to do with the traction control. Could be something as simple as a loose gas cap to as bad as a serious fault inside the engine or anything in between.

At least I opened and close the gas cap so that’s not the case [emoji4]

Hey guys,

A friendly local mechanic scanned and it gave code p1449

https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...83ca79e3a3.jpg

They checked and told me that it’s might be related to some EVAP.

What would be the next step. Any help is appreciated. Car is MY19, Automatik and 44K.
Most probably not under warranty anymore.

Thanks

Most likely the 1st code is triggering the next two. P1449 is clog in evap system. I'd call the dealership and see what they say about warranty. Emission control systems have their own warranty duration unrelated to the rest of the car and are mandated by EPA and CARB. They are usually 5 year.

This. There is little point trying to chase that one down without the right equipment to check.

Dropped the car today at Westchester Subaru. Still waiting for their diagnosis. They are inspecting it now (has been 45 min). Upfront they told me that the diagnosis (labor) is flat $159. Then probably they will let me know for the next step. He told me that the warranty is expired due to the mileage. But good to know it’s 5 year if related to the emission. The local mechanic also told me that it still might be covered if it’s emmission related.

Will see

Thanks for the comments guys.

Strange, when I looked up Subaru's warranty, it is 3yr/36k on wear items, 5yr/60k limited power train on all models. I couldn't find anything specifically mentioning emission devices but they are usually set duration some components are supposed to last. I only know this because I fill the federal paperwork out at work for our equipment.

I'd politely ask them about it and see what they say. If they hassle you just cal SoA and see what they say.

Further digging shows the evap components are only 2 year/24K. That sucks.
