18x9 +40 with 265s stock suspension

Hey guys,

Long story short - LS Swapped FR-S, 8" wheels are too small. I have a tune scheduled for 6/7 so I found some wheels that are 18x9 +40 offset running 265/35/18s. The car is on stock suspension (for now), I am wondering if there is going to be any rubbing or clearance issues?

I did run through the forum, but all of this is coming down the wire and I'd like to know before I run out of time lol.

Thanks guys!

Tires are probably going to rub the springs in the front.

Agree. I would get some camber plates to add to the stock shocks and get a 3-5mm spacer with extended studs.

Don't think 3-5mm spacer won't do it. Need at least 7mm

Camber plates change nothing as the strut and tire move together. The rim itself will be 7/16 11.1mm closer to the strut and the tire will poke more inside and outside.

Camber plates will move the strut away from the fender. Makes more room for the wheel in general.

I fit 255 RS4's on the front with the stock struts, camber plates, and camber bolts. I don't recall what my wheel offset was. I ran a 3mm spacer up front but none in the back. Not sure what tires OP plans to run but if they run as wide as RS4's I expect they'll poke past the fender by a little at least.

17X9 +42 fit on stock struts. I dont see why an 18" wheel would make a difference. It would be very tight and you couldnt run any camber whatsoever.

17x9 +38 with 245’s had only about 6mm of clearance between the inside of the tire and spring on my car. Would rub the springs until they came up to temp/pressure.
