Drag

Just upgraded suspension and wheels 18/9.5 +45 with rs-pro 265/35r18 and it's a shit ton of drag. Yes, I do know I need a speedometer correction I'm waiting on my fluidampr and 75mm Harrop pulley to update my tune all at once. My question is will a 4.88 diff ratio help that? I was gonna get an m85(3.73) diff to stay in gears a bit more but feels pointless now. I would like the ease of acceleration when not on boost and don't mind having to shift a lot when on boost due to it not being my daily. Any suggestionshttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...f639e192b6.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...6e68a58e8f.jpg

Aero drag is not going to be up by much. Judging by these results (https://ecomodder.com/forum/showthre...g-cd-7475.html), 265 vs 215 might increase aero drag by ~5%.
Rolling resistance is something else, but wider, stiffer-sidewall tires theoretically should have *less* rolling resistance due to less hysteresis. And tire stickyness/adhesion isn't really a thing at normal temps on normal roads. Compounded launch pad at the drag strip is a different story there...

If you were thinking of going 3.73 gears, and now pondering 4.88, yeah, leave it stock. Gearing mods are pretty overrated anyway IMO...

What tires/wheels did you have before? My guess is your tire/wheel weight has increased.

Perhaps switching to aluminum or cf driveshaft (approx 13 lbs vs 24 lbs stock) will help negate the sluggishness from having heavier & wider wheels & tires

Those are some beefcake tires!

When I went to 245 from 215 the car felt really planted but very heavy to get rolling. Going FI, it feels much more planted and has the peppiness back I had with 215s

I’m curious how these workout for you!
