H.I.N Moheegan Sun
So what's this whole thing I heard about on the weekend about this event going south outside. Word is that HIN is now banned from Moheegan Sun

Why?

Around 10 PM or so, a bunch of people decided to host their own meet on the summer parking lot, blocked the exit and started doing burnouts or revving their engines, there are videos all over the place, it got pretty wild. Not sure how HIN was involved, but it got so bad that Moheegan has now banned them from ever hosting an event, allegedly. |

Is honestly frustrating, we only get a few events in CT, next one being Broke. East which last year was alright, not too crazy. I mean I get it, you want attention, wanna seem cool, but there's a time and a place for doing stupid sht with a car. The parking lot of a very busy, private establishment ain't it. Is not only the drivers fault, but those in the crowd that support this kind of behavior. Is a cancerous mentality, makes us look like a bunch of noobs. |
Reminds me of how the Berlin Turnpike got crazier and crazier every year until the NPD started getting state funding for some pretty crazy undercover cars and any loitering anywhere was only going last a few hours. It's kinda become ok now again to hangout in some spots if they are still open but ain't never going be like it was when people would come from states away just to go street racing. It was convenient though with a traffic light almost exactly every quarter mile. That's what I remember though being a teenager was fastfood places looking like they were on fire from the burnouts, watching a Nova doing a wheelie racing a twin turbo 300ZX, then when the cops kicked everyone out it was just a big race to the next hangout spot a few miles down the road... Some kids killed some innocent people though while racing and then if you even touched the pike with a car that had some kind of wing or made turbo noises they would find excuses to ticket you for anything. DOT cops out there too... basically killed it. It went from like near anarchy to almost nobody in a few years time. Fast and Furious came out like the year after. Yeah it might be fun to show off, but it'll kill any chance you have of making plans to gather somewhere.

They could always take the approach York and Lancaster cities did. Back in the 90s there were circuits in both cities where people would frequently stoplight race. Ticket enforcement didn't curb it enough, so they seemed to just let the roads deteriorate to the point where they can't be raced on. Some of the potholes are bad enough that not even a bro-truck can clear them without smacking the diff.
