FIRESTORM RED GT86 TRACK CAR | FEATURING APEX 18” FORGED EC-7R WHEELS

Motion in Motorsports out of South Korea developed this stunning track machine, and with a well curated list of modifications, it performs as good as it looks. MIM recently linked up with our South Korean partners Basic Performance to outfit the car with a set of our Forged EC-7R wheels, and the premium brushed clear finish really transformed the overall look of the car.

The EC-7R, born from 6061-T6 aluminum and 10,000 ton press, was developed for track junkies and w2w racers featuring I beam spokes, paintless knurled bead seats, a reinforced inner lip, and a 1600 lb load rating - substantially exceeding the JWL load rating requirement of 1191 lb for this chassis. Offered in 9" and 9.5" widths in both 17" and 18" diameters, just about every type of driver has the solution they need to suit their individual goals.

With the factory suspension still in place, 86/BRZ owners are limited to 9" wide wheels due to the silhouette of the front struts. MIM chose to install a set of AST 5100 coilovers, which not only boosted the cars handling capabilities, but also provided them with the inner clearance needed to run our wide 18x9.5" square fitment. While many choose to run one of our 17" wheel fitments to keep weight and running tire costs to a minimum, there aren't many good tire compounds available beyond a 255/40-17 width. By stepping up to 18's, drivers can unlock a ton of popular track compounds in the 265/35-18 size. A proper track alignment with aggressive negative camber specs brings everything full circle, ensuring the impressively wide wheel and tire configuration clears the factory fenders.

Check out the photos below, and stay tuned for action shots of the car attacking the Korea International Circuit!

Car looks stunning, as do the wheels. I hope you guys keep making these in a few years as I might get a set down the line.

Thanks for the kind words! We'll try to keep them in stock but they are quite popular especially in brushed clear.

This is one of the very few wheels that actually looks finished around the lug nuts. So many look like they're missing a hub cap, or that the designers just ran out of talent around that area. The worst are the wheels that have a decent face/spokes but once they get to the lug nut area they look like the have a cup bridging the flange face to the spokes. Those wheels leave a huge opportunity for for a deeper looking wheel on the table. I don't understand why it's so hard to design a decent looking wheel. These ones knock it out of the park, though.

I doubt I'll ever pay that much for something so frivolous. But this is one of the few wheels that's even tempting.
