Hi,

Probably once a month i am getting a CEL with P0365 and P0366 Camshaft position sensor B (bank 1). Usually it happens after the car has sat for one day without driving but i dont have enough evidence for that. When the CEL is on car runs fine but downshift on 2nd last gear is rough. Once clearing codes all is fine.

Other new thing i've noticed is theirs a slight pulley type noise when accelerating or when the car is idle-ing. It is more noticeable when accelerating sounds like its from engine maybe left hand side.

Any help or info on the above would be appreciated, the only mod i've done is installed a cat back exhaust.

Cheers

Hi ya, ohno and welcome to our gang -

What do you mean by "downshift on 2nd last gear is rough"?

What does the "pulley type noise" sound like?

Those codes are over my pay grade, however, I will try to summon up ol @steve99 for you.

Thanks mate,

Actually I'm not concerned so much about the rattle it might just be the crickets sound!

I mean when the CEL is on and I am down shifting in to second it jerks a little. Reset engine codes to turn it off no issues. I suspect it's only doing this when the CEL comes on to protect the engine. I'm wondering if it could be a bad cam sensor or wiring issue. If not I saw someone else post a TSB for the cam snesors with the same codes I wonder if it could be related

FYI mine is a build November 2012 GTS 86

You may consider doing a search (use google - FT86 club ???). I think there has been several discussions about checking out those sensors.

Good luck.

check tsb above

once to get an engine dtc code it often puts transmission in limp mode as well and can cause rough shifting

also if your car is 2012 auto it should be on ZA1JA01I ecu firmware not earlier ZA1J700I or ZA1JA00I

assumiing its auto the rattle noise qt idle is likely the vaccuum pump for brake booster its very comon issue on auto cars

Hmm, could the TSB be the problem if it was issued in 2013 but it's now 2021 could it possibly have taken this long to cause this issue? I will report back once i have had car inspected.

It could be that a bit of wear over the years has just put it over the tolerance for the error detection.

Get the firmware update for ecu and check the cam sensor as per tsb will very likely fix issue
