Another one bites the Dust!

I was setting at a 4 way light in the turning lane. I was first in line....

Light gives me the green arrow.... I slap the car in first and pull out in to the intersection.... AND BOOOOM. All i see was a full size GMC truck grille at my driver side window.

Air bag hits me in the face, Slings my right hand past my head. Seat belt grabs me , car immediately dies. my head hits the door panel along with my left leg, i get spun around 180 degrees from where i was. im now pointing in the opposite direction i was traveling with a truck pinning my door shut...

I'm so freaking pissed i couldn't see straight. Lawyer Time!

Idiot illegal immigrant/undocumented worker girl with no drivers license. she had insurance though..

R.I.P. to my 2014 Subaru BRZ. I didn't get to drive the car for only 4 months. Only had 24k miles on her. destroyed it bad. Almost could have killed me if she would have hit me straight in the door. Front wheel took the force of the hit. the cars body was twisted...

Sucks this happened and I even got mad for you.

I'd remove the reference to her ethnicity though, makes you sound a little "not in my backyard" type.

ampjunkie808 04-30-2021 02:22 AM

I will edit it. But i just call it like i see it ,and this edit is the truth. It is what it is. I am not racist. It is not some kind of "not in my back yard" to say what ethnicity of the person who hit me.

The real fact is that she was an illegal immigrant, undocumented worker, or whatever you want to call them.

Oh Hell yes im pissed. That was a $1000.00 carbon fiber hood! I have every right to be pisssed at whoever destroyed my car. If people cant understand what a red light means.. holy shit..SMH..

I am so injured from that wreck i can't work. All i do is physical therapy 3-4 days a week and set at home. try going 3 months without a paycheck and see how life gets. It sucks

Sorry if i offended anyone. was not my intentions.

I learned a few defensive driving techniques when I was sportbike only for 5+ years before I got my car.

One of them is I monitor the all of the lights while at a stop (especially if I'm first in line) so I know when to put it in gear. This also lets me see if some idiot will run the red and it's saved me a few times.

Sucks that this happened but glad you're ok.

Hope this doesn't come off as grilling you but I understand you're just stating the description of the driver.
It may be misconstrued by others on here so you may want to edit that.

Just my $0.02 :iono:

This! I do this exact thing!

Living where i live, we kind of learn to drive like that due to our winters.

Its baffling for however long i've lived in my home city, people DO NOT know how to drive in winter. So you end up driving not to avoid other people, but you drive to protect yourself from other people. Ths mantra works year round.

glad you are ok. Im always wary of car accidents, especially now that i have a child.

Gotta agree. I started doing this a little while back after nearly being tboned in front of my house.

Now I'm just completely in the habit of watching the perpendicular lights and traffic. GF goes crazy when I make a mistake driving and it makes her feel good that I can make mistakes lol.."so you are human, hahahshhshahahshhahabhsgshahag."

As someone who drives 2-300 miles a day, I always look out for the ones that aren't paying attention on the road.

1) it saves me a lot of time, because time is money for me.
2) makes for good content for anonymous YouTube channels via my dashcam.

Well now, that's a shame your car got messed up - :(

I wish you a speedy recovery.

coastwardpig 04-30-2021 02:35 PM

I know it's an awful experience, but in the end you survived and that's the important thing! Not to sound cliche, but cars can be replaced, people can't.

Also, now you can look forward to finding a new toy!

ghostzfh 04-30-2021 02:55 PM

Since the airbags deployed, I'm guessing the frame got damaged? Is the car salvageable or no?

daiheadjai 04-30-2021 06:02 PM

You didn't die (great testament to how these cars are built, given it was a full-size - I'd imagine they were at a decent speed too, running a red), and these cars are plentiful. Count it as a win!
