If those don't work, you may need to check the connections behind it. I think if it's never been taken out, this shouldn't be necessary.
However, recently I had some issues that were similar with an aftermarket headunit after not touching it for about 3 years post-install, and my friend and I removed it and double-checked all the connections and made sure they were very secure (more than originally).
If you hit a bump it's possible one of yours got loose a bit.
