Los Angeles area advice

So I might be looking to get an FR-S a bit sooner than anticipated. In about a month from now I might need to grab a new car pronto. I won't be in a position to wait for one. Which is unfortunate, because I haven't learned to drive a manual yet! (Guess I will learn in rush hour LA traffic in my FR-S)

What dealer is most likely going to have one of these in stock (with multiple color options) when I need one at the last minute? OR, will they let me make a refundable deposit to hold one for a bit? Buying it right now is not an option.

:thanks:

Umm...hmm...yeah...about that...

If you've NEVER driven stick in your life and don't plan to spend at least a few hours cruising around a parking lot getting the hang of things, I'm not sure that's the best of ideas. LA isn't exactly the most forgiving place to drive.

I've made it around a parking lot ok. But that is about the most I have done =\

Any dealership that currently has multiple colors and manual will most likely have them marked up. I would suggest using autotrader to check which dealer have cars in stock and what options they have. Any other mark ups for equipment won't be listed but at least you can call ahead and check to see if anything else was added.

I'm just thinking traffic would be pure hell if you've never driven a manual. The last time I drove up there for E3, it was stop and go for a good 2 hours. If this is your only option, I'd buy the car and wait until after 10 or 11 PM before driving out of LA.

There's a white FR-S inside the jewel box at Tustin Scion. The fact that it's been on display all weekend probably hints it's an Auto if you're interested? Call up the fleet manager Ruby..

Drove my wife's manual mustang last night. Managed not to kill anyone, and only stalled once. We only get it for a short time (hence my impending sudden purchase). Tonight I drive it again on some busy streets. Maybe tomorrow will be the freeway. I figure a week of doing an hour a night should get me goin ok.
