What essential items do you keep in your car?

I'm curious to know what 'essential items' the fine people on these forums keep in their vehicles.
Yes, it's also a gratuitous way for a noob like me to get more posts as I'm not super mechanically inclined and feel I have not much to contribute to this community :bonk:.

I'll start.

Tire pressure gauge
OBD2 bluetooth adapter
Wheel lock key
Jumper cables
Flashlight
Snow brush (during winter)
A few dollars in loose change
Glass cleaner
Paper towels
Pen/pencil
Notepad
Extra pair of shoes
Jacket

And last but not least: HAND SANITIZER!

Edit: Face mask, can't forget that one!

device charger/charging cables
emergency tools (socket set, screwdrivers, volt meter, pliers, battery cleaner)
self-contained jump-pack
combat first aid kit
emergency water
scotch 33+ electrical tape(works on wounds too!)
random loose change
random towels
tow strap(fits in spare tire)
sun visor for long parking
baseball cap to act cool
sunglasses to be cool
magnetic phone mount
pens
random business cards
headache pills
tire pressure gauge(digital!)
at least 3 flashlights
2' piece of 500MCM wire

In my limited edition BRZ STd Dual Sport daily driver:

OFT and cables

Receipts.

Empty iced coffee bottles

A spray jacket

3 mismatched socks

A pile of student assignments to be graded

A diecast model of a BRZ

Some old Hillclimb programs

Fire extinguisher

Some handouts of nonsensical flowcharts from a conference

Camera mount

An Aux cord that is incompatible with my phone case

Pens

Oh, and if I'm doing a track day I'll throw in a multi tool and a tyre gauge :)

I've tried to be a grown up about my car but after 23 years of car ownership I now embrace my inner slob.

startlight mint wrappers
discarded receipts

My vehicle “essentials” have become minimal in recent years:

Hand Sanitizer
Sunglasses
Pen
Phone Charger
AAA Card
Emergency Kit (small cooler filled with first aid kit, a few plastic bags, spare essential medications, and a roll of tp)

Most of those things plus a loaded .45 ACP, with two extra full magazines.

(I'm too damn old and out of shape to fist fight my way out of a bad situation - :()

LMAO! Similar to the vast majority of Canadian's I don't own any firearms. I'd simply just use my legs and run :)

Well, I just went out and looked. In the trunk of the twin is a trunk organizer with a old bath towel, 2 wine glasses, one of those umbrellas that folds down to about 6 inches long, and a small micro fiber towel.

In the glove box is registration and proof of insurance, a phone mount I bought that I've never used, a stack of napkins the wife grabbed from somewhere we ate, and some random ticket.

1 quart synthetic oil
1 bottle car wax
1 bottle detailer
several micro fiber towels
OBD2 wifi scanner
wheel lock key
Spare masks
1 can tire dressing
1 clay bar
USB chargers with micro USB and lightning cables
Pen
Owner's manual
Tire pressure gauge
Reusable Toyota & Subaru shopping bags
Adidas hoodie just in case

Reading the previous entries and realized having some latex gloves is an excellent idea -I wish I had them when I had to change my tire a month ago.
