Sebring HPDE meet?
Anyone up for doing a/some DE(s) at Sebring?
Schedule for the main groups (which you can buy HPDE insurance for) is below: Sep 15/16: PCA - Suncoast Oct 13/14: Chin Motorsports Nov 3/4: Chin Motorsports Nov 11: PCA - Suncoast Dec 8/9: Chin Motorsports There are some other groups too (SAFE, Flatout, NASA, PBOC, etc) but Flatout requires you to be Solo qualified and I'm not sure who here is, hell I've been racing instead of doing DEs for so long I'll probably need a check out ride myself. NASA and PBOC I just hate so I don't bother with them, SAFE is good, used to require Solo qualification but I'm not sure if that's the case anymore. The date for me is unlikely to work because it's one day after a 14 hour race at Sebring that I may be doing, I won't be in any shape mentally or physically for a DE the day after if I do race that weekend.. |
I'm considering the October Sebring NASA Florida date, but since you hate them...

Bought HPDE Insurance for the BRZ, Mid Ohio next monday on stock suspension, the next day on springs. CT XP10/XP8 pads, need to get unlazy and swap fluid still. Eh I'll do that in Ohio. Probably doing the Oct Chin event. I have a 14 hour race at Road Atlanta Dec 8th so that date is out for me :( |
Yeah I saw that post. What organization does a 14 hour enduro?

Lemons does also, but that's more like a freak show than racing ;) Love the Cayman R btw, nice choice! |
Oh I was hoping it wasn't crapcan racing, haha. I haven't gotten to try a crapcan race yet. I need to get some buddies together and build a car. Yeah I loved the Cayman R, but it is gone now as I sold it Thursday and picked up my BRZ on Saturday.

Doing Flatout event at the end of sept. 28/29 i think. solo requirement is like de2/de3 level at a minimum. hell i've seen novices out at FOM events. it's 450 for the event i'm going to.

Flatout isn't signed up with LocktonAffinity for DE insurance either are they? |
i dont' know i'd have to ask matt or ron. for the most part tho it's guys that can afford to have something go wrong. either real race cars, guys with money and nice cars, or ppl with common sense. i've never seen anyone be clueless on track with them. NASA DE is a different story. they pretty much require you have around 10 days experience to run with them or you better have good references.

I run insurance on the BRZ only because I don't want to throw away money. Experience and common sense doesn't prevent a freak oil spill and a 100MPH spin into a wall. I've never wrecked a car on track with the exception of a 25mph tire wall hit during a tropical storm at Daytona (in a race, not a DE) but I still don't like to risk tossing 28k into the trash ;) I'd have no problem showing well over 10 days, but that's a good reason why it won't work for a "DE Meet" since most here probably can't. |
If a meet happens, I will be there in my BRZ. I don't really plan to track it, but I will make an exception.

Alright, so I'll be at Sebring Oct 14th with Chin and November 11th with PCA. I know LD is in for the 11th, anyone else wanna head out? Chin's event still has some solo slots left, PCA has solo and novice.
