2013 BRZ Premium Key

Quick question I can't seem to find the answer to. I just purchased a 2013 BRZ Premium but it only came with one basic fobless key.

Did the 2013 Premium offer or include remote entry with a fob or key/fob combo?
If so, what would be my options of getting a replacement?

i believe the dealer is your only option. it's not fun.

The BRZ Premium should have a "Key/Fob combo". To me it seems like they just gave you a "spare" key. The original key fob should look like this:

The BRZ Limited is the one that had all the fancy keyless entry and push to start options. hope this cleared somethings up.

Yep dealer is your only option as mentioned above and its not fun nor cheap.

You have a "valet" key. There should actually have been two key/fob combos as well as that one.

Well that chaps my ass. Alright, I guess I'll head to the dealership so they can have their way with me.

While on the topic. I've seen some 3D printed fob/key covers ppl are making. Where's a good source to obtain one?

If I'm going to get raked over the coals for a key I might as well go all in.

There are some true locksmiths that can program a new fob to the car.

Get the dealer that sold you the car to complete the sale of all parts. If from an individual, ask where the other keys are. Not good to have them with the keys and your name and address.

This 100%. Especially if it's a dealer, it's up to them to get you what's missing. Never accept less than what you are owed.

i'm starting to see a lot of dealers, used and new, putting official statements in their used car ad sections that they "only ever provide ONE (1) key with the purchase of any vehicle"

i know my experience with getting dealers to get extra keys, back in the days before chip keys even, well, it's easier to get blood from stone...

YMMV.

Even with that, he did not get a complete key. It's clearly much easier to bring up at the point of sale, after the fact is going to be tougher. He needs the complete key, not half of one, and the integrity of the dealership will show once pressed about that.

US Subaru dealership quote on 1 key/fob combo:

Key = $240
Programming Chip = $50
Total = $290

Is there a yotamd case for the BRZ key/fob?

try calling a local locksmith. sometimes they're able to get them. otherwise, it might be the cost of entry-- life lesson to why you'll want to use it as a bartering point in vehicle negotiations later.

otherwise, you could always try one of these keys:
