I guess that perhaps its not being delayed till next year...
Not that a '21 car in a computer game means a lot. |
If only gran turismo would come to PC :(

You can pick up a second hand PS4 very cheaply these days. Its a pretty good game, average sim physics - but it does enough and its events and online racing system really elevate it into something very good. You can actually have clean races! |

Back end needs work, based on that screen capture it’s a dragster.... |
I presume it's just a 3D model of the 2nd gen, and underneath that's just a 1st gen model with the engine output bumped to 228 hp? We don't have any evidence of any other major changing in handling between 1st gen with the taller FD and the 2nd gen.
If someone is curious to compare the performance of the 1st gen and 2nd gen, and don't care much about the looks yet, they can just create a sub-model with 228 hp in AC with 3rd party software. |
^ Did that when the official specs came out for the BRZ. The power is modified by adjusting the torque curve table - I calculated this based on the new BRZ curve seen in the IP and the announced torque max and spread. Tire grip also had to be increased to adjust for the new PS4Ss. The result: a car that definitely feels faster, and takes several seconds off 1st-gen lap times.

Don't have to wait for long, the GT Sport version will be out within 48 hours.
Grant Turismo always do a wonderful job of making beautiful models, with extremely detailed interiors and exteriors. Can't wait to design some racing skins for it and check out all the colours in photo mode! |

After driving it in Gran Turismo for a bit Im able to get lap times similar to an S2000. The S2000 is ultimately a hair faster but the GR86 is easier to be consistently fast with.
The GR86 drives very similarly to the 2015 86 in the game, just faster. Its instantly recognizable as a twin. Im able to shave 2-3 seconds off my time on brands hatch between the 2. The engine sounds very similar too, a bit smoother but not as different as the Ken Gushi drive-alongs suggested. Sounds like polyphony turned the fake engine noise off. |
Based on the VR video, it looks like he had to shift into 3rd at around 55~ish, which seems to suggest the gearing hasn't changed from the 4.3 ratios of the 2017+ models. Am I right about that?

Also, where is the ducktail Sony?
