Well, I would like to be honest. It is not always a fault of the vendors. If people are cheap and they don't buy, then we should not always blame STI or TRD. For example, one year ago STI designed a titanium muffler. It was build in limited pieces, because it was hand made. How many did they buy it? A very limited number when they saw the actual price! STI thought that the interest would be high enough and they were saying at first to make a lottery. At the end the muffler didn't sell and they had to make it available to the public. People attracted by Subaru or Toyota are not willing to pay for a high quality part comparing to people attracted by other brands (e.g. Porsche). I had in many cases a personal experience too, where I would sell a high quality or low used part. People would message me to ask the price and then they would just look around in ebay to find a cheap or highly used and beaten up part. Unfortunately, it is what it is and I don't see changing in near future.

I didn’t even know this part existed, I have the normal (non-titanium) STI muffler, I thought it was expensive. Just checked Japanparts $5352 AU, ouch! Does look cool though.

It would be a little over 4K in US dollars. Over 5K here. Still too expensive IMO, but wouldn’t knock it back as a Christmas present.

I have the stainless steel STI muffler too. I am done with mods on this car. Maybe my next one will be a Boxster.

Good car, I drove my friend's GT4. It's nice but i don't feel like it cost 4 times more. *probably a bit better then twice more. :D I think normal 718S would be lovely.

Dude, chill. It's 2021, this site is almost certainly hosted on a cloud server where storage is not an issue, scales dynamically, and is likely not part of the pricing model anyhow. Not saying he shouldn't like them through for aesthetic reasons, but server space is like... such a 2005 concern.

Data storage is still a concern and always will be. It is the easiest thing in the world to click on a picture and link it instead of uploading every single one of them.

Agree it's the easiest thing in the world to link the photos. But data storage for photo uploads is 0% a concern unless you have some legacy hosting solution from a decade ago. Massive databases or 4k video, sure, but photos? Pfft. I'd hazard a guess that the hosting plan for this site (IBM SoftLayer, if the Googles are reliable) is throughput-demand-based instead of storage-based anyhow.

I've always wondered. I didn't even know it was possible to upload to the forums. I always thought you had to hotlink from your own storage space

You know what, Tcoat, you've gone long enough without someone putting you in check. And for crying out loud it's time someone says it.

stop.

I guess at the end of the day is it the user’s fault or the application’s fault. If certain functions are allowed on the forum that aren’t desirable, the application should change to not allow it.

So the application should be changed to either restrict uploading of photos or reduce the size of the photos allowed to be uploaded etc. As long as the function is there, users will make use of it and I think that is fair play as that is how the application is designed at present.

I'm actually lost on the whole thing. But I assume it's him posting a lot of photos and such and it's taking up space?

A lot is an understatement. It is cool that he scours the farthest corners of the internet for every single picture, render and high schooler's doodle of the thing but the shear mass of pictures he is uploading instead of simply linking is daunting.

If admin isn't worried than I don't care either though.

Some of us dont like clicking on links for pics and would rather it show up in the post.
I can see it being annoying if your internet sucks and is slow, or if they're gigantic images (which to be fair the forum software tends to autoshrink it to a viewable size for your screen)

Linking means the picture does show up in the post. Probably 95% of the pictures on this forum are linked.

Welp, even the STi version looks terrible to me. I wish I liked the car, I really do. Really wanted to love it. But I wouldn’t buy one of these based on the aesthetics if it had 300 hp and was 25 grand. I can’t find even one angle I like. Just doesn’t work to my eye.
I do like that STi shift knob though, and I got that already ;)

I can agree on struggling to like the car from its various angles, but that STI shift knob... :barf: :D

Different strokes and all that. But that sucker is weighted nice and just feels more premium than the stock one.

Do you have the STI short throw shifter with it or the stock one? Just curious, I’ve been thinking about getting the short throw shifter and maybe changing the shift knob too.

I really like that spoiler they included and am wondering if it would be transferable to the GR86 premium trim. That one comes with a more exaggerated spoiler but I assume taking that off would expose the holes for which this STi accessory wouldn't be compatible.

Overall, all of the STi parts seem really tasteful enough for me to consider the BRZ, but am unsure.

I have the STi Short Shifter.

It is a very small different. I'd say more difference in "play" than in throw length.

I haven't felt a stock shifter in a long time. I wonder how it would feel first time back using it.

Same to me.
It's not much about the throw that it changes, it's more about the mechanical clarity (stiffer bushing?).

I just have the shift knob, but I love it. I looked for one for a long time bc man they are pricey to import. Found one on here a year or so back for a very reasonable price so I jumped on it.

PS: Love the Avatar and handle. Hard to beat classic Clint!!

Mounted with double stick tape would be my guess. No holes or screws/bolts.

According to this video (with auto-translate), it appears the STI muffler will have 10% more flow and have a 2 horsepower increase.

Does anyone know if the wheels fit over the Brembo PP since it's 18x7.5J +45? Or would you need to run 3mm-5mm spacers?

Takes more than just the size and spacing of the wheel to know. Shape of the wheel, aka how concave it is plays a factor.

Also, those wheels aren't going to be offered in the US as a port or dealer-installed accessory from the looks of it.

Did anyone receive the costs for the Swan neck spoiler?

Sadly I haven't been able to find any sources. I've been looking for 2 days and my dealer still only sees about 10 port installed accessories. But based on similar products, I'm guessing several thousand at a minimum. The TRD swan neck was like almost $5k, the STi Type RA wing was $4k. So I'm guessing $4-5k sadly... But we can cross our fingers and hope, cuz the more I see it, the more I want it, but I'm not spending that kind of money.
