Fort Calhoun Nuclear Plant

Apparently there is a rumor floating around that the Plant was in trouble and it is based on a Russian report suggesting that the plant was at "level 4."

But the plant has been shutdown since they shut it down for refueling in April(9th)!

This one even claims that there wasn't a blackout. Just a news blitz from other events.

Coverup or shenanigans?
Both sources confirmed a fire, and also that the power to one of the fuel rods was cut off. But if the plant was shutdown there shouldn't be a problem. And the Omaha mentions ample generator fuel and the power lines are still intact to keep the fuel rods cool.

Note that the Nation is a Pakistani newspaper and the Omaha World Herald is a Domestic newspaper so whom do you trust?

Crazy... if there is an issue they will only be able to hide it until people become ill, or the fishies start glowing in the dark.

I live in Omaha. I'm not worried. Here's an article that explains the fire: http://www.scientificamerican.com/ar...-nuclear-plant

All things considered, it could have been much worse. But they got it all worked out in under 2 hours with only a 2 degree rise in water temp. The plant's not going to explode from this and release radiation all over the countryside. I'm not worried.

Thanks, it basically confirmed what I was suspecting.

It was a potentially big issue as this news went viral. I just wanted to get all of the info and inform what was going on .
