parts out of stock?

I purchase 3 parts for my brz last week. Parts were from different vendors and different brands. All 3 parts are out of stock with ETA 3-4 weeks.

Seems odd. Thinking companies are not producing much inventory due to the virus going. Or maybe the parts for these cars are becoming less demanding, it will soon be a 10 year old car since initially came out.

Anyone noticed this?

I have been attempting to get a cargo mat for a member in the US for a year now. It is still backordered but not shown as discontinued.
The low production number for these cars does mean that model specific parts are not a huge priority and they don't make a huge stock of them. Many that are stocked are in Japan so you have to wait for them to ship them over.
At this minute there are several new car plants that are shut or slowed down due to shortages so if the manufacturer has a choice of directing resources toward new cars or service parts you can bet they will pick the new ones!

We have a mini crisis in the Suez canal, someone smart has parked his tanker across the canal blocking all traffic through it.. This is has some interesting repercussions on supply of goods..

Here you go, more info for your own curiosity... The extract below states that the container ship is one of the largest in the world, if it was smaller it wouldn't have got stuck!.. Japanese shipping agent, I'm wondering if the pilot was testing his "drifting" skills..

it still amazes me that 52 feet of the ship is under water...

There is a running joke with evergreen as they had a crash on a Chinese highway and the 18 wheeler completely blocked the entire flow of traffic.
