I also use Petron blaze. I like blaze better because they don't use ethanol on the blaze and they advertise it as 100 octane (but I think it's just 98 RON)

For the Shell V-power nitro+, i've never tried it before but I guess it should be good if it's 98 RON as the FA20/4U-GSE is designed to be used with 98+ octane.

Just don't fill up your car with anything lower than 98 octane as it will produce the inevitable engine knock.

I also use Blaze but Track People from Batangas Racing Circuit Recommends Shell V-Power Nitro+Racing, "its better than Blaze".

Lol I did the tandem zorb once with my brother and we just tried to beat each other up before falling over.

Ever since I got the car, I have been using Petron Blaze. One time I was low on gas, I pulled in a Shell station and loaded up on V-Power. When I reached home, I noticed the "cricket" sound that the HPFP makes reported by the US owners. After I finished the tank, I went back to Blaze and the "cricket under the hood" sound went away. Never loaded up on V-Power again.

Where is the kit coming from? How much is the kit?

The big brake kit is worthy upgrade if you go to the track a lot and if you intend to turbocharged/supercharged your vehicle.

I tried using all fuel brands including V-Power and Blaze to know which fuel will remove the cricket sound. It took 4 full tanks of different fuels and there is no hope of figuring out the cause since even using blaze produces the cricket sound when driving for long hours. Now after ~4k Km the cricket sound was gone, I don't know if its because of the distance traveled or because of the INTAKE+Exhaust that I change. A racing car driver we know told us to use V-Power when doing track, normal driving then use XCS since its 95 octane which is a minimum requirement for the 86.

Meron bang problem ang stock oil kapag ginamit sa Track?

Hi Christian! I have the exact wheels you want in 19s also. With stock suspension, the ride is not much different than stock. After I dropped my car with BC coilovers, it is harsher than stock for sure, but since I'm used to coilovers in my cars, I'm okay with it.

Pag Stock Oil daw ma susunog ung oil sa engine pag high rev palagi. Some sort of asphalt will form inside. Use 5w40 or 10w40 for track

Sabi ng pro sakin pag Track daw 18 is the recomended size. ung 19 daw hindi recommended pag 86 ang gagamitin na car. Ung ride kc magiging HARSH!!

hi guys.. Toyota 86 user from Cebu..

Made my reservation for a white MT back in July 2012 and took delivery nung Dec 2012..
didn't expected the car to arrive much sooner kase haba na ng list when I was filling out the form
But apparently, mas madami nagpa~pareserve sa AT kesa sa MT :iono:
kaya maaga ko nakuha yung sa akin..

some pics fresh from the dealer..

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-u...0/DSC_0168.jpg

with the new 86, power and handling is definitely 100% better in stock form..
marami kase ako nababasa from other threads na kulang daw sa power yung bagong 86/BRZ...
pero if you've tried the old one, the new one is just right to have fun with.

sorry for the long post... 1st post kase eh kaya medyo excited hahahaha

Congratulation to you and your car. Iba talaga kapag naka Japanese plates... nagiiba tingin mo sa auto

I also like the photo of your car on the "touge"... sets the mood for driving :coolpics:

I'm also not sure why people prefer the automatic for this car... I guess its a daily driven car but for purist/enthusiast the manual is the only option.

I would like to try the AE86 but i'm pretty sure it's hard to live with (no power steering and ABS) but that's point of that car... it would teach you car balance and control; that's the reason why I like the new 86 so much.

For people who are complaining it's under powered, it's simple... you're doing it wrong

victorb 02-11-2013 09:37 PM

Good morning guys, got the 86 last January 31 from Toyota Bicutan.
Its black, base model M/T. Milage was 11kms when I got it, and currently at 150kms. Hope to meet the group soon.

*I am from Alabang

Current:
1. Removed rear 'toyota' word emblem
2. Removed some trunk tools
3. Sucked out 3/4 liter of engine oil as it was way over filled from the factory
4. Gassed up with Shell Vpower Racing
5. Breaking-it-in softly via 50-80% throttle until 4k rpm and on an increasing pace as
milage increases. plenty of decelerations to induce vacuum
6. Minor crickets at 850rpm-1.1k rpm on 2nd gear acceleration, usually after bumps/humps (very minimal and I think its normal)

Initial Plans:
1. Paint sealant, Paint cleaner this week
2. Greddy SP Elite axle back (ordered)
3. TRD Shift knob
4. TRD strut bar
5. 18's gram lights silver
6. Smaller plate frame (our cars come with European plate frames which is too long
for our local plates)
7. Maybe a set of coilovers (thinking twice as it might ruin the cars suspension
balance)

Tye300 / TGT 86, I work somewhere in Ortigas and I am pretty sure that the black 86 with TGT plate is yours. I always see your car parked at El Pueblo basement parking in which I park everyday. Your car is a total baddass. I admire the things you did, very simple and elegant -- from rims to interior modifications. Where did you get your parts? We should see each other soon.

Victorb,

Yes that's me. I'm always at El Pueblo because I'm a tenant there. (Archipelago7107) Thanks for the kind words, hope to see your car and meet you soon. I got my rims from Emperor Autokozmetix in Home Depot ortigas and the TRD parts from the Hong Kong distributor Kingston. If you need help getting some parts just let me know.

P.S.
As I said in my previous post, gassing up with V-power seems to make the crickets under the hood appear. In my experience gassing up with Blaze makes it go away.

Nice! Still can't get over the black TGT 86. I heard you just recently had an FHM show there. That would be a good venue for the group. I am a very technical guy, I would not gas up the tank more than 50% of blaze as it is very strong with unknown additives. From exp, it makes the engine run hot, cold start idle rough and might even make the engine stall (my friend experienced this on his Audi q5 with di). When I reach half tank I'll put in blaze. Will update on how it goes. Hope to see you soon!

My first fill-up was with Shell V-Power Racing. Noticed the crickets soonafter. Been running Petron Blaze for 1,700km now, no cricket sound so far

I don't know if i'm the only one in Corinthians that has white pearl 86 with a TRD body kit... but most probably if you pass by Bautista street.

The black is from a politician... I think he got back in October/November last year.

I think there is a good number of 86 owners here in our village but I think most of them are not forum members or BRZ-86.ph members.

thanks paps.. ayos lang yung lumang 86 kahit i~daily, pero its a different story here in cebu kase we get lesser traffic and lapit lang mga places dito kaya i can live with it.. mine still had power steering when i had it converted from RHD to LHD.. ano nga lang, sobrang likot/twitchy kase basin FR layout with no driving aids..

with the new 86 feeling ko parang 4wd yung handling sa corners since ive previously owned an Evo, hindi nakakatakot mag attack sa corners. No understeer, no oversteer provided you have all aids turned ON, slight oversteer naman with VSC OFF... With all driving aids OFF, dun lalabas yung feeling ng lumang 86.. not good to use in the streets pero sanayan lang talaga.. kaya before upgrading to higher power, enjoy it muna on the track all stock and know the limits. im sure its more fun than trying to control a 300hp car

iv'e tried drifting my new 86 with all aids turned off.. 200hp is ok for the stock tires or in my case, iv'e already upgraded to 18"s with just the Federals 595s para d masyado grippy and can still have fun doing donuts and figure 8's sa open parking lots. good for 1st and 2nd gear.. 3rd gear, needed na talaga mag clutch kick to keep the momentum up
