2017 brz mutes everything when GPS wants to talk?
 

I have a stock 2017 BRZ headunit, and something is bugging me... Is there any way to fix this?

When my phone presses pause, the headunit responds by muting the audio. What this does, though, is that if I'm navigating while listening to podcasts/audiobooks, the mapping app presses pause when it needs to say something - but the headunit presses mute, and so I don't hear anything.

(Doesn't happen with music, since the phone just lowers the volume for that. Happens with Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps. iPhone 12. Pretty sure happened with an Android phone I had before.)

Any tips or tricks?
