Exhaust upgrade

hey guys, I was looking for some input. Tax Season is right around the corner and I thought I'd upgrade my exhaust with my return. I've done as much research as I can and I've got my heart set on the Tomei Expreme Type 60s. I love the tone and how aggressive it sounds. but the only problem I have is that Oregon's law for the maximum exhaust sound is 91 decibels and the type 60s is 92 with the silencer attached. my question would be, would It be worth modifying the silencer somehow to get it down below 91 decibels? I realize what silencers do and how it affects power but I'm more so looking for the sound.

thanks in advance.

I'm gonna recommend finding another way. Add a resonator maybe? Or a second silencer instead of creating more restriction?

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about 1 dB. As long as you aren't hooning it around town all day, I doubt police are going to give you much if any trouble. Do you have annual/regular inspection requirements? Consider keeping your stock exhaust and just swapping out when it comes time to go to the referee

I would worry if you ever plan on adding a header in the future because it's going to be nowhere near 91 dB compliant

I forgot to mention I already have Megan Racing Catless UEL headers installed. I think I might have to settle with a different car back exhaust because I’d rather not have to deal with getting ticketed left and right.

What do you have for a front pipe?

Everything else is stock. It’s just the UEL header and the over pipe that came with it.

They don't care about exhaust noise that much here unless you live in PDX, and even then they are not that picky. Loud stereo is like having a "ticket me" neon sign on your car. I have never known anyone to get an exhaust noise ticket car or motorcycle.

I'm not saying make your car stupid loud either, just saying you may be a little overly concerned.
