Yeah, more seat time is definitely the answer which is why I'm torn on it. Personally I've invested more in STX because I have a car that's more closely set up for it while I develop my skills. That coupled with the fact that XS isn't a Pro Solo class makes me question why I would want to go to great lengths.
I think the point they are making is that the amount of seat time they have committed is what makes them better drivers and not the cars themselves. While I'm not much of a fan of that particular point in that it's just making someone look silly just because you can, I also understand that there are those people that think they will be great because they have a powerful car.
I'm also sure that you are asking facetious questions. ;)

We kind of ran into the same thing in our region when we created an STM class a few years back. It was kind of ugly in that the primary people that pushed for the class had a history of publicly saying a lot of disparaging things about the performance and skillset of people in Street and Street Touring.
So yeah, it was fun to beat a lot of those folks and their anything goes cars head to head in an STS or a CS prepped car.
I had the same thought with my STX car. If I see XS fields at locals and the "pro" class doesn't look appealing to me, I'd run it. I've meant to check and see where I am at weight with a full tank of fuel and the spare tire in the car.
