2015 BRZ - Car running rich advice

I just got myself a 2015 Subaru BRZ Series.Blue 2 days ago, a very exciting time.

But on my way home from work today I got a CEL and went back and had the guy in the garage I work with scan for codes. It had came up with a PO172. I don't know the brands of most of the mods already done to the car, but it has a Perrin CAI, different headers (I assume unequal length), and it's straight piped catless.

From what I've heard and read (may or may not be correct), because its catless, the ECU isn't getting the correct air/fuel ratio from the MAF or O2 sensor.

It was recommended to me that I get a tuner and load a tune for the mods I have, get it tuned professionally, or get an exhaust with the right cat and reso combination that I like. I don' know if I'm missing something or if theres any alternative, this is all out of my depth. Any help or advice would be appreciated!

Edit: this is my first post, ignore the formatting and lack of knowledge pls

The most likely scenario is that the previous owner had a tuning solution that was disconnected from the car and sold separately before selling the car. So the advice you mentioned it likely sound. If you want to keep the exhaust the way it is, you'll need a way to tune it. Open Flash Tablet (OFT) seems to be the most practical and cheapest. If you don't want to tune it, or live in a state with smog testing, you'll need to replace the headers with stock, or at least catted headers. Nothing behind the header matters for rich/lean ratios. I wanna say the front pipe had a second cat stock, so smog might catch that. If no smog, only change it if you want a different sound from exhaust. Cold air intake doesn't really do anything on these cars so don't worry about it. If you have any more questions I'm happy to help. Just ask
