I know lack of flex is a huge benefit to carbon wheels, but that's not really a realistic option for 86 owners. So how do we figure out which wheels are the most rigid? I discussed this with Ryan at Apex a couple weeks ago, but he didn't have any info for me. He said he'd check with his engineers. I thought that would be a great topic to add to their already excellent blog.

TL;DR no manufacturer will really ever publish rigidity, as there is no standardized way to measure it.

The best I can offer is anecdotal evidence having owned ~60 sets of wheels for the car over 4 years.

Construction and design are the biggest contributors, and mass to a lesser degree, but correlation is not causation.

Well that's unfortunate. I understand there is no standard way to measure it, but that doesn't mean it cannot be measured. I think it would be really interesting to see even just one or two meaningful rigidity metrics comparing multiple wheel designs of the same size. Then at least we could have some kind of relative understanding of the differences. Saayyyy....between the ARC-8 and EC-7R? :)
