Door Open Buzzer

Is there a way to disable the door open buzzer. If I touch the door handle on the car after getting out but before my wife (who is way too slow getting out of the car) closes here door, the BRZ makes an annoying beep noise until the offending door is closed. Worse yet, it doesn't even lock the door! I would love it to just lock the doors when her door is closed. At very least I would love to have the buzzer disabled.

I tried to have the dealer change it...but whatever they changed did not do it.

Thanks in advance!

I have a similar system in the Lexus... I think you just need to learn to wait until she closes the door before you lock the car. ;)

It wouldn't be such a problem if I didn't touch the door handle out of habit once closing the door.

Post deleted -- I realize you were asking a totally different question than I answered.

If you are instead looking to disable the "key-in-with-door-open" beeper, see this thread instead.

Cheers,

Dave

LOL ain't married life grand. If she seems to always take longer to get out of the car, maybe you can learn to sit in the car and not exit until she does. Or... you can be the gallant gentleman, get out and walk over to her side, open the door for her, and then lock it when you close it behind her.

I actually went out to see if that would work...but the window doesn't lower when the door sensor is disconnected.
