Metallic tinking noise/ hissing after headers and overpipe

Hey I just installed TOMEI UEL headers and Tomei Overpipe a few days ago, and I’m noticing a noise that sounds like an exhaust leak. I cannot figure out where it’s coming from or what it is, I was wondering if anyone else had this problem after installing thisUEL header Or another version with an overpipe after tuning.
The noise is very slight at idle but when I give it a little gas you can hear it, and when I’m cruising in low gears, low RPMS.

I have TOMEI UEL , TOMEI overpipe, invidia front pipe, and borla catback. All catless, tuned to stage 2+ with OFT. I’ve read a few forums stating that this is normal but I wanna hear other people’s thoughts. Thank you!

I had this exact thought aftrr my install.

This is the glorious sound of red hot exhaust gases streaming through stainless steel pipes.

Check for leaks to be sure but its just how they sound. Beautiful isnt it...

I have the pro speed racing uel header (basically an unbranded Tomei) and stainless overpipe and this has bothered me since the day I installed them. When I had my catback installed they assured me there was no leaks, another shop also confirmed it.

Unfortunately it appears its just a side-effect of having thin-wall stainless steel exhaust headers. For me, though, It does lessen the hotter the engine is. It's worst on cold starts.

Metallic TINKLING noise?

I would imagine it would sound something like what I would think THIS would sound like:

Definitely check for LEAKS!

I have the PSR headers and I don`t hear any difference from the stock headers(apart from rumble) Mine are wrapped and the collector has been tidied with a die grinder.

I have the exact same setup. It's normal man. As long as you have no leak you will hear a metal sound coming from under the passenger side. Enjoy the ride :)

Interesting about the collector. The exhaust guy that fitted ( did not supply) my PSRs was stunned at the quality and remarked on the collector. What was up with yours? Rough welding?

I cleaned the inside of the casting. Nothing really wrong it`s just perfect now. No longer a casting but a finished piece. Put your finger inside yours and feel.

How many headers did you install? Maybe that’s your problem. This car utilizes only one.

I don't get ticking with my gruppe-s header but I get the wooshy thin wall steel piping sound on throttle. A thicker guage metal would solve that. I understand that open flash headers had thicker construction which would help mitigate that sound.

Interestingly a friend with a 14 FRS sold me his header and it had a ticky sound to it when installed. I don't hear anything like that on my 2017.
I wonder if that's more valve lash issue, and it's just valve train noise echoing into the exhaust?

I have Gruppe-S also but I did not notice 'more noise' but it's the thin walls according to this forum.... I came across similar post in 2013/2014/2015/2016...

I've got the Skunk2 Alpha EL headers and theres a hell of a lot of tinking from 2.5k-3.5k Rpms in 6th gear. It appears for a quick second throughout the gears, but is super noticeable in 6th. Seemingly normal from what I've read, but it's kind of a sketchy sound..
