This is a great video...especially if you like math! I can't wait to drive one |

Nothing beats this car at it’s price point.

"Subaru got rid of the intake tube... and is piping fake engine noise through the speakers..."
Wonder where he got that info, but I suspected that from some of the previous videos we have seen. It sounded quick synthetic from the inside. Interior quality is garbage, as expected. The head unit is... low quality. Also interesting is him confirming that the rear spoiler is plastic and removable. People who want a bigger ducktail or a more flat piece like the current car have that option. His breakdown of the engine torque vs the Miata is also good. So the car should feel like it is pulling harder than the Miata. But he also agrees that Subaru should have made the redline 8,000 with 250hp. Also, yes, shut up about turbos. It's won't happen, nobody can afford it, just go buy any number of other sports cars with a turbo and the 60K they cost. |
God that wheel gap lol

Guy says soo-buh-ROO instead of SOO-buh-roo. Weird!

IT looks fine from far away, with certain wheels/designs. obviously looks terribad when close up cuz you can shove your whole fist in there. makes you wonder how in the hell the german cars can have almost no wheel gap and just as much stock ground clearance.... |
Can definitely confirm the "faster than an ND2" claim :) - I edited the torque tables for both the GT86 and the ND in Assetto Corsa to the new/latest specs, and the 2022 86 just with the engine mod alone is 3 seconds quicker around Sebring than the ND2 (on semi-slicks for both cars).
The new-spec twin is also more fun on the virtual track than the old one thanks to that meatier power band. Fun factor was further enhanced by giving the engine the sound profile from the AMG GT. :party0030: |

Check out the Miata if you want some gaptastic. |
Looking forward to a road test review and a real test at some point for myself. Impressed with the update/new BRZ

Wheel gap is subjective. Until you encounter parking lot speed bumps.
|
The wheel gap looks similar to how the first gen sits with RCE yellows. I would say 2022 car is still a touch taller.
I pretty much agree with everything Jason said. The base 86 was around 36kCAD out the door with taxes etc. It would easily push close to 50k with turbo, brembos, beefed up drivetrain and suspension. It would be nice to see them offer that option before it is discontinued towards the end of its life cycle. |

It looks lower to me. Specs say it is indeed 0.4" lower in height, and for sure the fenders are lower as well. |
