Switching to Ecutek, oft rom is still on ecu, using an outdated rom at that. help
 

So I am attempting to switch, i mean i already bought Ecutek+flex fuel, so i am trying to switch over to ecutek just to data log....




I am unable to load the 2020 USDM auto Rom that Delicious Tuning provides for them to tune the car because of what OFT did. ( i mean i know i loaded, I am not placing blame, just trying to figure out what to do)


So basically OFT used 2013 or 2017 UK Auto rom file which Ecutek doesn't like, so it is not letting me program the ecu back to the 2020 US auto rom file.


What can i do?

I switched to ecutek b/c OFT broke on me and i wasn't able to switch fuel maps when i needed so i went with ecutek when Openflash took a long time to get back to me. (i don't blame) A 2 months passed Dec/Jan so i went witch Ecutek/Delicious Tuning plus flex fuel. Now i am stuck b/c OFT finnaly sent me back a new tablet but it doesn't have the old files nor am i able to flash back the ecu to oem 2020 auto brz.


I thought of several ways but maybe I am overcomplicating it


A. Mod Cal ID of a 2020 auto brz to show as 2017 UK auto rom file instead
and have ecu tek run with that


B. I talked to subaru, said only way to flash is if update in ecm ( rare) so it would overwrite the ecm to oem 2020 rom file if not, buy a new ecm and wait for it to come ($$$,considering i will just flash to ecutek...)


C. Figure out how to force load 2020 US auto rom file with either EcuPro(ecutek program) or use oft to force load that 202 rom rile


I would ideally want a proper 2020 US auto rom file on the car so ecutek/Delcious Tuning has no issues, 2nd option would be A. B option last b/c luck plus money for new...ecm.

Alright, I will ask them what to do, i didn't think to ask them since mostly remote tune package with the kit.

okay, thanks i hate to brute force it but i think only way unless i pay for a brand new ecm...


i thought of editing the cal id to match the ecutek showing i have 2017 uk auto rom since they wanted me to load a specific rom file of there's.

Do not make anything like hacking a rom if you don't understand it 100%
or you will brick the ecu

Force flashing with ecutek anyway is not so risky, but you have to do it with your tuner guiding you

or ( and trust me would be better for anyone) just keep using 2017 eu rom (ZA1JK00G) and ask delicious to send you a new tune based on that and use that , it will work perfectly better than US tunes

ZA1JK00G is the best rom for restyling cars all over the world if using ecutek, very stable and defined and compatible with all restyling cars

Still need more help needed...
 

Hello, i spoke with Delicious and they will send a new tune based on that, but they did let me know i will not pass smog/emissions unless i can get a proper 2020 rom onto the car so they can over write it with their rom provided & DMV will flag my car once it gets a test or if i get pulled over., I do live in CA so i believe that is true, nor believe DT would be lying but who knows.







I am wondering if anyone can modify the rom (that i am requesting) to show to PROecu that it is an 2020 US auto rom, just so it can be over written with the ones provided by Delicious Tuning if that is at all possible. I have contacted Open Flash Performance but nothing & i have posted on Rom Raider to see if anyone will provide me with a rom to load into OFT tablet to flash over. I am not sure if that made sense, i do apologize

you do not hack roms with ecutek, or you ll have problems

Now you are on K00G rom that was force flashed by OFT with an hacked rom
So now with your Ecutek your should be able to load EU K00G rom, as it thinks your car is an Euro 2017 car

you can now request Delicious to send you their rom based on K00G and car will run pretty good, or you can ask to switch to US 2020 tune, since it seems so a problem in California
There is a command with ecutek to force flash things and bypass the compatibility check but you have to ask your tuner for that

Thank you to everyone who replied. It helped guide me in a certain direction. My tuner understood the issue and we were able to correct it back to a proper 2020 US Auto version.
