Launch control issues jdl turbo brz

I have a 2013 6speed brz with a jdl turbo kit. It has a good tune but ran into issues with the launch control. With it enabled it randomly hits launch control when i floor it in any gear. No issues with it disabled but id like to have the launch control. Tuner said it could be because i have an aftermarket steering wheel. Anyone have any ideas?

If you are in gear and driving it probably is not launch control. It is probably a safety working or acting up. As stated above what software tune do you have?

Tuned off ecutek. Its not a safety. The car does not do it with launch control disabled

Really? Launch control on a standard with a good rear end, like we have, is an art. Learn how. ;)

He means the conditional rev cap set up the tuning software, not actually having any control over the car's take-off

Actually the problem he has is the software randomly activating when the car is floored. He likes it when its not being flaky.

As it has to be connected to wheel spin sensors, to be useful, the software limits wheel spin. That's launch control in a nutshell. Teaching your ass to do that, is my point. ;)

Launch control on BRZ’s have nothing to do with traction control. All it is is a rev limiter when you are not moving and clutch is engaged. It does work good. Yes launch control on high end sports cars control everything, ours do not.

Thanks. I did not know it was that ... simple. I had a Cutlass with 560 ft/lbs from a crate motor, and I learned to be careful. ;)
