Found another new part today, it looks really nice and the price seems reasonable its about $340 at enjuku racing.

Will this cat less work with the greddy evo cat back... Also which is better? Cat or no cat ?

JoeBoxer 08-14-2012 02:32 PM

Should work with any exhaust since its factory replacement size, i'm not sure what you're testing is like in kentucky but i bet it would be pretty loud with no cat and the evo cat back, it would have more gains but if you want to keep it quieter i would get the cat.

I tried they say they are working on it but were willing to offer a discount if someone would provide them with dyno numbers after installation.

empower-auto 08-14-2012 07:29 PM

Price seems good. I'd hop on if it's as good as the nameless or SARD bits.

Just looking at it I don't know how you could mess it up but you know there's always a way. Enjuku told me they could feel a gain with the catted version so i'm gonna go with the test pipe for now and save some cash.

This is waht Enjuku told me via pm
"We are waiting on Motiv to get us some dyno results. Just our "but" dyno seems to make more power than an exhaust by itself. we are extremely impressed with the build quality on this part!!"

I wanna hear how this sounds with and without cat on stock catback system, Im very picky with removing the stock look

JoeBoxer 08-15-2012 12:32 AM

I will let you know soon i'll be ordering in the next few days and running it with the rest of the exhaust stock, i am getting the non catted version though.

*KID* 08-15-2012 12:48 AM

do you know if they are stocking these, If they are Ill just order the catted one right now

What makes you think having your own made is mcdonalds quality. Idk where you get your exhausts made but my guy is like the Picasso of welding. ;)

JoeBoxer 08-15-2012 02:40 AM

Yeah i don't have anybody like that around here I would trust to get it right or use quality materials.

Enjuku Racing 08-15-2012 02:03 PM

We have both the Testpipes and HFC's available to ship right out. We test fitted the HFC on our car and is fit flawlessly and sounded great.

This would bolt up to a Perrin catback, right?

I would think so but i'm sure Perrin will be offering there own pretty soon but if you can't wait this or Nameless are both solid options it would seem.

I can't decide if I want cat or no cat. Also I sort of like that the nameless can also replace the over pipe but Perrin claims no gains from that. Too many decisions and stupid emissions testing. Ha

JoeBoxer 08-15-2012 03:55 PM

I hear ya I am mainly going no cat because the exhaust i want (SP Elite) is pretty quiet already.

I'm leaning towards no cat but then I might be stuck with the stock header. If I get a cat, I might be able to get away with a catless header.

Turbowned 08-15-2012 04:20 PM

My inner tree hugger is sad at all you people wanting to go catless... yeah I know it still has one in the header.

Tainen 08-15-2012 04:42 PM

I went high flow catted on the downpipe/frontpipe, and catless on the header. Zero smell at all from the exhaust, hippie approved. :)

also I think Perrin saw a 1hp increase on the overpipe replacement?? so there is a minor benefit. For me, I like the idea of removing it as a potential bottleneck, especially for people that are going with new headers. All that improved flow might be bottlenecked by that nasty stock overpipe.

You still haven't thrown a CEL? Here they just do the obd check and I want to pass that.

VIDEO PLEASE?!

chadz 08-16-2012 01:29 PM

I ordered the testpipe directly thru Motive. Pricing is on their site. Jason is great to deal with and awesome with communication. I should be recieving it Friday and installing on Saturday. I will try to get it dyno'd next week.

Sounds good I have been talking to them quite a bit through their facebook page too. He mentioned they will also be working on a full cat back and header in the future and possibly a front strut bar.

jpit 08-16-2012 02:33 PM

I am curious why in the cat version they went with a 300 cell count instead of a 200.

We were actually misinformed by the manufacturer of the cats originally. They are actually 200-cell - we've updated our website and we apologize for any confusion, thanks!
