Pics of the new 2022 BRZ from an exclusive photo shoot!

Hi everyone!

This past Friday, we started the 20th Annual 48hrs of Tristate Subaru Enthusiast Charity Drive for Make-A-Wish at Subaru of America HQ, where they allowed me the opportunity for an exclusive photo shoot of the new 2022 Subaru BRZ!!! I wish I had my CPLs with me - but I wasn't about to say no, because I didn't, lol! 😂

Anyway, I think it's a great refinement!!! I personally think they took the original design, made it a little sleeker, while maintaining some of the aggressive looks. And, I can't wait until they give me some time behind the wheel!!! I'd love to see what the FA24 can do!

Here's the picture gallery!!! Enjoy!!!

Somehow in these photos, the front bumper isn't as offensive as originally viewed.

I thought, in person, it looked a little different than in the promo shots. I hope I captured photos that more accurately portray how it looks to the human eye.

Like everything but the non-optional front plate mount...

Oddly enough I like it more now

Even though I am forced to run a front plate in New York State, I am glad that the pre-drilled holes are the ones that fit the front plate deletes. I wish that bumper curvature didn't require it at all, either. :(

I also wish we didn't need to have a front plate in NY. :/

Not sure how the promo photos managed to make it look like a truck while it looks like a nice low sports car here. Not bad!

Nice contribution to the forum. Thank you

Big thanks to the OP for taking all of these and sharing. Really stunning. I already liked it, but these make it out to be properly beautiful. Counting down until Subaru opens up ordering...

What I want to know is, will the tops of the front fenders be visible from the driver's seat?

I need visible pontoons.

Lantanafrs2 01-19-2021 07:26 PM

Can you see the brake pads?

Hey Robert, my friend sent me your pictures once they came out to hear my opinion on it. Great work on the Camera Angles! I was wondering what Camera + Lens you're using for your shots if you don't mind me asking.

I think the car is definitely growing on me every time I have the press release images scroll through my slideshow on my Monitor at work. What does everyone think of the rear canard/deflection piece at the rear wheel wells? I personally like the design but want to hear from everyone else for their impression of the practicality/aero utility for it.

Thanks!!! I used a Nikon D850, and a Sigma Art 14-24mm f/2.8 DG HSM, and Sigma Art 24-70mm f/2.8 DG OS HSM. Sadly, I didn't have my CPLs with me (though some of the shots would have been artistic choice not to use it). I hadn't planned on shooting the BRZ that day. Instead, I was helping navigate a charity cruise, and didn't expect to be taking any photos. Lesson learned... bring everything, all the time, lol!!!

The rear wheel wells bump out a bit more than it seems in the pics... catching that on a silver car, especially without filters, wasn't easy. Here's the pic that shows the little deflection thingy best, I think. It's interesting. Personally, I honestly thought it blended in nicely - when I finally noticed it. This angle makes it stand out a bit though. I'd also love to hear everyone's thoughts.

Isnt that rear canard on the wheel well just some kind of regulation workaround?

I think its existence had something to do with the rear wheels and fenders being lined up or something like that. Without it the fender slopes in too much and it doesnt cover enough of the wheel as per regulationl?

The LExus RCF has this thing too.

I think you can take it off and no one will be the wiser, its just that it has to be attached for dealers to sell it legally.
