Because of that, I believe the issue is with the cable. As a potential bandaid I'm going to give an OBD2 extension cable a shot, as well as adjusting the pins on all of the OBD2 ports (male & female). If that does not work, I suppose I'll be hardwiring the Solo DL to CAN as I had intended. On happier news, my header + tactrix + ff kit should be arriving any day now :happyanim: |
Oh damn FF kit, I priced one out but it was a hard pill to swallow. Probably not a big deal since you got a good deal on the header.

Not to mention it's probably expensive.
I can get it in the summer from a pump for around $2.3+ a liter. I have a seperate source for potentially cheaper but isn't a permanent solution. |

Went to my first track day out west at Rocky Mountain Motorsport. Holy crap the track is incredible. So much fun and super technical but with these cars you spend a lot of time on the go pedal flat out. Also tested out a new camera set up and the video quality was pretty good, however the audio is trash. Should've tested before but oh well :bonk:. Car did well, driver was alright for his first time and I'll definitely be back next year.

Installed the Blitz upper radiator hoses, coolant temp sensor adapter, and coolant temp sensor. No leaks, no air bubbles, pretty simple install. The triple gauges look great, quite happy with how the interior has turned out.

Did an oil change and nut + bolt check, went to "Lugnutz" here in Calgary. Excellent facility and super nice to work on a lift.

I picked up a set of Kumho Wi31 in OEM 215/45/17 for $120/tire shipped w/ taxes and fees. Then a buddy got them mounted for me at his dealership. Unfortunately my new job requires me to commute, hopefully this is the only winter I have to drive the car :(. https://i.imgur.com/qeiSknJ.jpg |
That place looks brand new. How does it work? Do they charge per hour?

Drove up to Strawberry Creek Raceway over the long weekend. Super fun track, the organizer ran it CCW in the morning and then for the last two hours CW.
No videos yet, still working my way through them but I got some decent lap times for my first time out. Still a ton of time on the table, but overall very happy with how it went. CCW - 2:08.227 CW - 2:10.128 Only took one photo at the track and it's of another twin :happyanim:. Got a ride along with him and saw a few corners I could improve on (and did in later sessions). https://i.imgur.com/FksZac0.jpg Also made a stop in Edmonton and picked up a splitter which I've come to find out is a Verus replica/imitation (confirmed by Clay @ Verus), but for the price I paid I'm not super upset about it. https://i.imgur.com/ddyZHHt.jpg Washed the car since getting to the track required 15 minutes of driving on a gravel road in each direction. So after the wash I stopped by the airport for a photo and the sunset. https://i.imgur.com/xQNnkCN.jpg Time for winter mode I suppose, in the coming week I will be swapping from the Gloc brakes back to the Endless, and from the RPF1 & Hankooks to the stockies & Kumhos. |
Header and FF kit finally arrived after UPS held them hostage and tried to extort me for money. Freaking UPS wanted $40+ in fees to pay the $6.90 in duties... so I said screw that and learned to do it myself. Holy crap was it easy once UPS got off their lazy can kicking asses and sent me the proper paperwork they're legally required to send. Printed it out, walk into the customs/border office, verify ID and shipment contents, pay the cashier, and get a paper saying I paid the man.
Going to install everything tomorrow, hopefully the o2 sensors don't put up a major fight. For now I am going to just clean them, but depending on their condition new ones will be ordered. Also got new OEM header to block bolts and OEM exhaust gaskets from Subaru. https://i.imgur.com/9gIz1f6.jpg |
Those courier fees are pretty infuriating on low cost items.
Let me know how that FF kit works out for you, I will potentially be in the market come spring. |
What header is that?

Been tuning with Steve, so far so good. Car runs great and there's definitely more umph. Still don't think I'd pay retail for a set of header tbh, but for sub 1k USD all in it's a nice upgrade to have.
Also picked up some fresh knuckles off of a 2016 BRZ with ~50k km for next spring. Going to swap in some ARP wheel studs, fresh axles, and fresh hardware to refresh the driveline. My logic for this is that both axles are leaking grease from all 4 boots, and it's easier to swap the whole knuckle than to fight with the beyond crusty bolts holding in my current wheel bearings. Plus fresh shiny parts with significantly less KMs are always nice. https://i.imgur.com/0mEoTNj.jpg |
Another new to me part... picked up a hole-free OEM trunk lid locally for cheap. Came with a horrible paint job free of charge, but no dents and the seller included hinges and all wiring. Definitely going to be a project to clean this up and make it at least semi-presentable.

https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CRw5W28SH...2Bto%2Byes.jpg It's awful, the paint chips off with a fingernail. |
After an hour of paint stripping the trunk, it is no longer an assault on the eyes.
I think the car was stolen, recovered, and parted out; because the paint was eggshell wall paint applied with a paint roller, the trunk lid release latching is missing with the key release wire cut, and the "security tag" has the serial number scraped off with a key. https://i.imgur.com/xzYqfWc.jpg With that said, it is the perfect blank canvas for my Black Friday purchase... https://i.imgur.com/4LifnaZ.png |
wang gang gang

Threw on the trunk over the weekend, definitely needs to be painted or wrapped.
https://i.imgur.com/vJHcKrA.jpg And more shopping after finding some good deals q.q JDM 86 airbag cover from YAJ, new brain bucket + gloves, and not pictured some ARP wheel studs from Subieland :) https://i.imgur.com/GX8WoME.png https://i.imgur.com/2dnb4EZ.jpg |
UPS and Canada Post delivered . Nine Lives Racing Wang + JDM Airbag cover + Toyota Japan GT86 Toyota emblems.
https://i.imgur.com/vmv3Tbh.jpg https://i.imgur.com/RdlBCf7.jpg https://i.imgur.com/axeTBMo.jpg 4 day weekend coming up, lot's of installs to come  |

Wang, airbag, and emblems went on Christmas day.
Went for a test drive and snapped some photos https://i.imgur.com/VqZ3H8k.jpg https://i.imgur.com/U9YINNI.jpg https://i.imgur.com/04azLMi.jpg And then removed it in favor of the stock trunk because winter :( Boxing day I was off from work, so helped a buddy pull the dead 3UZ from his lava... or I swapped my car in an afternoon ;) https://i.imgur.com/nfcGVcv.jpg |
