Tire Fitment of 205/50R17?

Hey guys, the stock BRZ comes with 215/45R17 tires.

Is it possible to install 205/50R17 tires on the car? Has anyone deviated from the given range on that? Sorry if this is a noob question as I just bought my new BRZ and am being super cautious about it [emoji1374]

They're a little taller (25.1" vs. 24.7" stock), but should be OK to run them, but why?

It's perfectly fine, I used 205/50/17 winter tires on the stock wheels. Gives it a little more sidewall/cushion from potholes and whatnot.

I wouldn't suggest it for a summer setup though since the extra sidewall would make the tire slightly less responsive/sloppier compared to a 215/45/17 equivalent, unless you want the added comfort.

Woah, sorry didn't get the notification for this. Yea!! I did fit the 205/50R17s on there and it was actually a better fit due to the skinny and tall tires needed in the snow and all!

The extra comfort is unfortunately needed due to me living in Toronto and the roads are just horrible haha! But yea, I think for summers I'll have to swap them out to be the stock tires as those are super slick to be driving with.

Thanks for the assist guys!
