A little confused on as to why use "arsonists" as a base for the comparison to anti-vaxxer then.

Not a base for anything. Healthcare workers treat the sick regardless of what caused the sickness just as they will treat a vaccinated person who contracts one of faucis variants.

But that brings us back to why not get the vaccine and eliminate one of the variants. Why choose to endanger healthcare workers' lives due to not wanting to get the vaccine, and then contracting that strain of the virus? Also, why choose to waste medical supplies and resources for the same reason? That's a slap in the face to the healthcare field.

And Fauci doesn't own any of the variants, so don't see the point in saying "Fauci's variants." If anyone owns them, anti-vaxxers should take some of the ownership as they are letting the virus mutate and evolve with every infection the virus gets to inflict. That's why these variants are coming up.

And those variants are created when unvaccinated people are infected and allow the virus to mutate.

One note is that fully vaccinated means 2 weeks after your last dose IIRC. But it sounds like getting the vaccine is a good way to get back to normal.

That's how you get people vaccinated. I'm sure he'll get pushback from the pro uniformity crowd though

dpfarr 05-01-2021 03:51 PM

Fuck yea people should be pro uniformity in this instance. I want a uniformly non existent virus. The comparison to being like the flu is done. This virus was and never will be that. However, continued hubris of ignoring our susceptibility will make it likely to have to vaccinate continuously.

I’m full on pro vaccination, and I hate taking my time to get fucking stabbed w some shit that might make me feel off for a day or two. It occurs to me that if we are able to lessen acquisition by inhibiting transmission via vaccination, then there is less incidence for future vaccination for the same fucking virus. Is that logic flawed?

Hey smart guy, I saw in the news today a woman who was an RN here in the Toronto area, worked for 18 years, caught Covid and passed yesterday. She was 54. I myself just turned57 yesterday, incidentally.
Yeah, I guess you expect that when you go into nursing since it's all part of the territory.

Is it inappropriate to use the word "dumbass" in this context?

Yes, if you're looking in a mirror. I'm 56. So what. Get your vaccine and you don't need to worry about it. Dont watch the news

Unless I misread you, there was a suggestion that healthcare workers should treat anti vaxers without question since it's their duty. First, antivaxers can put everyone at risk as perpetual virus mutation reservoirs and secondly perhaps they should wait until the current backlog of cases is treated since its not as if they weren't aware of the situation they are doing nothing to alleviate. Back of the line for them .

I know a woman who recently gave birth in the hospital with Covid. The baby was saved but she is really sick and expcted to be hospitalized until the summer. Apparently they have had quite an upsurge of pregnant women becoming ill.

Sure medical people don't ask if you support vaccination. But ethically I believe these people deserve to become sick considering they have no issue choosing not to participate in protecting everyone else. If I misread, sorry..

Lantanafrs2 05-01-2021 04:35 PM

The virus is here. The vaccine provides immunity for the individual. I take it the nurse wasn't vaccinated?

Lantanafrs2 05-01-2021 04:42 PM

Why not get vaccinated and get some peace of mind? That's what its for. I'm trying to get mine now.

How are healthcare workers getting covid if they've been vaccinated?

Keep perpetuating the mutation pool and its a matter of time.
