If the calipers were a bit bigger (or by any big brand), I would do it too...since they are quite small, and they dont have anything special to write home about, I feel like I will emphasize something that is not that great and it looks a bit chav. People will look at your car, see the red/yellow caliper, expect to see a brembo or something , and they see the tiny little factory brakes and go: "Meh, rice"!

So, I am wondering why would people do it?

That is just my opinion, so if that doesn't resonate with any of you, than I guess we're different and that is that! No intention to start a stupid and unecessary internet fight.

I painted my WRX's calipers black. I usually wouldn't care cause the painted caliper look is played out on stock calipers (especially red) but when you have some nice black aftermarket wheels your eye gravitates towards the dirty, grey, stock caliper. Looked much better painted black, actually stood out less.

I'll be doing my BRZ's calipers black if I get some other wheels.

I totally agree! Why brings people attention on EOM parts. Well said!

Dont get me wrong! If the OEM parts were Brembo/TRD/etc. by all means, do it! If not..than you might need to invest a bit more than the price of a spray can of paint. I place this mod in the "turbonator fan in the intake", "turbo sound out of your exhaust", sporting an intercoler in front with no turbo under the bonnet category.
I think it just screams out rice, if you go with a colour that's easily noticed (yellow, red, blue, etc). Maybe black will look quite ok and will blend in with the wheels and not as noticeable.

Each to their own I guess.

Do you guys paint the whole caliper or just outside? I paid a shop $155 to paint my calipers red with G2 paint but they only did the outside. Should complain and tell them to paint the other side

Wow that's crazy. I would paint both sides.

Thinking of getting TRD calipers and painting them yellow... possibly try and get 'TRD' in black on the calipers professionally done :D
