Airlift Install Question
Hello everyone, I'm getting my bags installed by this shop that is certified by air lift and my question was if its necessary to shave down the bolts that are by the front left struts?
I've seen people talk about these bolts saying they should be shaved down but a lot the people that say this run camber. I personally don't run any camber in the front and the shop told me it wasn't necessary to shave these bolts down if i had no camber. Is this true? or are they just saying that because they don't want to extra work? I honestly have no idea, thank you for your time! |
Camberbolts depending on their position can adjust to both +/- camber .. and they are not on/off, obviously they can also be turned to in-between.
If you really don't need, you rather should consider reinstalling stock bolts of slightly higher diameter for extra strength & piece of mind. Just like camberbolts, stock bolts obviously are not expensive, so not getting need/wish to machine down existing ones. Also it's not advisable to use lobed camber bolts in strut holes that are pre-slotted. But if this is the case with struts of your planned air lift suspension, i don't know. I'd leave camberbolts though. Makes much easier for precise dialing of alignment, even if you don't use them at extreme settings for more negative camber for track or performance driving or that hella-camber looks fad. |
