You also appear to get an oil cooler if I’m not mistaken.

The most obvious thing is WHERE IN THE CHRIST IS MY RED-PAINTED ALUMINUM INTAKE MANIFOLD!

Honestly I can live with it for massively more torque and decently more power and same revs, but dang...

You know, as silly as it sounds, I was wondering where the red manifold was too. It actually looks better. But I'm sure there are reasons they didn't. They also brought back the D4S cover too.

The blue one is an AT. That's the engine bay in the pictures. Maybe the red manifold will be back for manual only. Would be cool to have it again.

Edit: Wait... Nevermind I'm stupid...

I think there was never anything wrong with the black plastic manifold

Wait for Gen2 refresh for the red manifold

i was going to say this, but i'm starting to seriously question if there's time yet for any ICE after 2025. many countries are starting to ban new sales...

It is waiting with that extra 5HP for the mid-life refresh about 4 years after launch. ;)

They have to leave a few things off the table for now, so they have some goodies to encourage people to buy the ‘improved’ refresh model.

I doubt Subaru and Toyota would expend millions of dollars developing the 2nd gen only to sell it for 3-4 years. Unless the USA, Japan and Australia all ban ICE cars by 2025, which ain’t happening, the 2nd gen twins will likely have a similar model life to the 1st gen, i.e. 7-8 years, so a mid-cycle refresh at 4 years is likely.

Even in Europe, which apparently isn’t getting the BRZ anyway, they are not banning new ICE sales until 2030, a full 10 years away. Still plenty of time for a full ICE lifecycle there, if you can meet the strict Euro emissions regs.

It was changed for a reason not just to look pretty but the new one could be different again and just looks like the first.

Sure they would. It happens all the time.
Remember they don't have to ban ICE cars but they can make the requirements so stringent it isn't worth making them.
Could see a hybrid though. I was very scared that this round would be one actually.
