I doubt Subaru and Toyota would expend millions of dollars developing the 2nd gen only to sell it for 3-4 years. Unless the USA, Japan and Australia all ban ICE cars by 2025, which ain’t happening, the 2nd gen twins will likely have a similar model life to the 1st gen, i.e. 7-8 years, so a mid-cycle refresh at 4 years is likely.
Even in Europe, which apparently isn’t getting the BRZ anyway, they are not banning new ICE sales until 2030, a full 10 years away. Still plenty of time for a full ICE lifecycle there, if you can meet the strict Euro emissions regs.
