I do too, it shouldnt be surprising it'll look something like that.

Almost all the Toyota's look like that.
And mainly the GR Toyota lineup has that square shape as opposed to the more polygonal shapes in the other Toyotas.

To each their own. I like it better. :iono:

Nobody has said otherwise.

Earlier in this thread I said I preferred the 86 organic lines to the BRZ industrial. If that render is even remotely close they have swapped positions with the 86 taking the industrial angular road in which case I like neither!

No matter what it would be an easier swap than any other engine. Depends on what they can do to up the power though since the value in swapping may just not be there when there are so many options for the existing platform.

The good thing is I'm sure someone will do it, so we'll find out sooner or later.

Guess it depends how you look at value vs. reliability, I've always wanted to get that Edelbrock kit but I'm just concerned with reliability since it's my dd. I tend to just prefer OEM solutions, I digress.

Could be as simple as they are not ready to go into full production at this point. We are still in COVID and many parts plants are running at reduced capacity or even completely shut down. It doesn't seem like it outside the industry but things are far from normal still!

Yes this whole covid will slow all car sales down due to not people working much.. not sure how long this will take ro recover but im sure will not be next year or maybe 2 or so.. the economy took a major drop and its nice to see subaru still make a car like this with this whole virus going on and fact that this type of platform is a rare thing now a days.

Parts cost money. New parts cost more money. The aluminum roof alone adds costs. Those formed skirts add cost. The ducting all adds costs. Sure they can wiggle things around but it will cost more to build. More cost to build means more price to sell. Unless of course they are willing to take a beating on them but something tells me they won't this time around. The price IS going to go up across the board.

Just a rendering, but I think Toyota's version will address the front bumper complaints.

Side by side I'm taking the toyota 111 times out of 100 over the Cayman wanna be.

EDIT: These two pictures side by side make it look like Toyota designed it and then handed it to subaru and said "good luck with a front bumper that works with these design lines!"

So if I just waited 8 years I could've

Saved a crap tonne of money.

$500 for spoiler standard
$500 for OFT
1000 exhaust
$900 for headers
$1200.00 for rims
$1200 for tires
$300.00 for lightweight pulleys
$100.00 for lightweight pulleys

All of the above Resulted in the 2022 Subary BRZ

clearly I should have been in on the new design LOL!

For the record I like the new version. Interested to see the toyota version. My guess a little more aggresive looking.

Nice to still have choices in this segment.

Have a great day all!!!!!!!!

Yes, I understand the Covid situation, specially due to several parts being sourced from China. Japan doesn’t look bad for manufacturing, as far as I remember. May had delays on the development, 6 months was a std on the industry initially, but on the most important programs (not the case here) companies were able to rush and bring close to the initial plan.

When I saw the specs, I almost changed my mind from getting a 2017+ to gen2, then this fall stuff came in, which would throw my purchase to 2022...let’s see how it goes.

Agreed. I liked the latest version with the analog tach plus the digital window.
