Ohlins MP21 and MP22
The EU website gives MP21 for our cars, and the US website gives MP22.
Do you know what are the difference and why the EU has "older" model? Thanks! https://www.ohlins.com/product/road-...2012-2017-zn6/ https://www.ohlins.eu/en/products/pa...plete-kit--54/ https://www.ohlinsusa.com/parts/2017...oyota&model=86 |
I thought the MP21 here in the USA had softer springs. The MP22 had the 5k springs. Just make sure you get the kit with the 5k springs. That is the kit I got. The kit with the 4K/3k springs I think would be to soft. Unless you are just street driving and want a soft ride.

EU MP21 has 5k springs...

Vorshlag sells the Road and Track package SUS MP22 with 5k springs both front and rear, maybe try ask them directly.

My 2 cents: when MP21 came out, they used different valving/springs for EU and US, as european customers usually prefer stiffer suspensions; EU has a lot of windy roads and higher speed limit.
But after US complains, they came out with same EU specs, but they have to recode the kit to MP22 to avoid confusion... |
IMO the newest package has the same valving of the first (and the best) 6k square MI20. The softer kit with 4k 3k springs probably has different valving, more compression and less rebound; anyway both my suspension tuner and the best Italian Ohlins dealer recommend me to not exceed spring rates more than 1kg from the standard kit without changing valving.
