4th brake light and wire taps
Quick question about 4th brake lights and wire taps.
I ordered a GCS 4th brake light... install seems very straightforward, but it came with only 4 wire taps (the kind that fold over and clip into place). Seen here: https://www.waytekwire.com/images/it...ap-31572_f.png But it seems it also should have come with a blade type female connector to crimp onto the other wire and then plug into the crimp, like this (shows 2 pieces - the folded wire tap part and then the quick disconnect part (lighter / clear blue): https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....L._SL1500_.jpg Am I missing something? |
Actual pictures of what you received would help.
If it's GCS, they either forgot to include it or assume you will buy some separately yourself. Contact the storefront. If you don't want to wait, you can find them in any auto parts shop or hardware/home-improvement store. |

I have 4 of the folding t tap connectors as pictured in the first picture. They look identical to what I have. |
T-taps are crap, I wouldn't use them even if they included what you're missing. There are so many better ways to get solid connections to wires that don't involve slicing into the wire itself with a blade.

I also bought the GCS fourth light.
Physical install was a 5 minute joke. Wiring... those vampire taps suck. I bought some locking taps instead. https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/...424af4fe_c.jpg |
