OEM Headlight Glare

I have a 2020 BRZ and found that the headlights have good light output -- maybe too good.

I frequently drive on unlit rural roads in the evening and have noticed a large number of people flashing their high beams at me. Anybody experience this with their stock BRZ headlights?

There was another BRZ behind me one evening and I did notice the stock headlights seem to produce a lot of glare. Never thought I'd say this but I'm at the point where I'm thinking of throwing tint on the headlights so I don't keep blinding oncoming traffic.

Step 1, make sure they are aimed correctly.
IDK what is up with manufactures today, but just about every new car a family member has gotten needed the headlights adjusted.

I've gotten a lot of the same on my 86. I haven't checked the aiming of the headlights, but it's probably worth a look.

The BRZ has motorized adjusters. Were they set right?

The official spec is 2" drop every 35'. I usually just get mine so they're completely flat, or just under depending on vehicle loading conditions

I'm hoping they are since I just bought the vehicle new off the dealer lot. How do you set headlight cut off on the BRZ with motorized adjusters?

this knob:

the higher the number, the lower they go.

Thanks. It appears I'm missing that knob so I'm assuming I have manual headlights.

I bought a base model without the heated seats and dual-zone climate control so I guess it also doesn't come with fancy motorized headlight adjusters.

The 2017+ BRZs (probably the 86 as well) with LED headlights don't have the adjustment knobs. They're "automatically" leveled using a sensor mounted on the rear lower control arms.

All of the oem hid models had it. One of the things that reinforced my choice to buy a BRZ over an fr-s

Do you use it often?

Only until 2016.

If you have fog lights turn them off. I don't run mine in rural areas or I get flashed.
