Where to find cars for sale by owners
I'm looking for an FRS/BRZ locally, been wanting to get this car since it came out. Seems they are finally getting near the 10k price. Just wondering where I could be searching for them.
So far I've been looking on -cars.com -craigslist |
I got an FRS 2016 great ass car best car I've ever owned so much fun to drive! And I'm not selling it good luck.

When I was looking for a Honda Accord on cars.com I think 90% of "for sale by owner" people didn't respond. You can try cargurus or Craigslist.

there are a TON of clean examples for sale on this forum under the members classifieds. forum members typically take care of their cars better because they are enthusiasts, but that also come with a little "i know what i have." there are plenty of facebook groups/pages that are buy/sell/trade for performance parts and cars themselves. search frs/brz buy/sell on fb. then theres the general facebook marketplace. in all honestly youre looking at ~10grand for an unmodified 2013-2015 w 75k miles. i got mine from a state over from craigslist.

this was one of my favorite ones to come up on here lately, but just so you get an idea that there are immaculate options out there and you get more familiar with pricing, and can make educated counter offers with specific examples when talking to potential sellers: something like this is definitely worth $17-$19 IMO https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=138985 so as youre looking and you come across decently miled stock frs/brz, they better be no where near $15k. but you will probably run into people with trd oil caps and hks air filters and sti front lips that "know what they have" i speak for everyone here when i say these cars are so much more than meets the eye and are a true drivers delight, so youre about to make a really good decision. read the recent post about a guy who had one of these, moved to a bmw M2, and is now coming back to a twin again. its right here: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=143019 |
I have a N54 335i, had it for about 6 years now. It's a great car but coming from an 8th Gen corolla I do miss light weight cars that have a good amount of power you can freely enjoy on the road. I've test driven the frs before and loved the handling and power. And I think it would make a really fun car to learn drifting and handling mechanics on.
Handling wise I've always been disappointed by the 335i even though I had kw v3 coilovers and various m3 bits. From the short drive in the frs it definitely felt way lighter and cornered better. I'm looking for a deal, clean title <50k, manual, good condition for under 10k. Good to take some time but I want to improve my odds by looking in the right places. What's with the high amount of salvage cars? Do these cars incur high damage easily? |

Lots of Ken Block wannabes that turn off the traction control because it's for "pussies" and then promptly spin into a curb or understeer into a phone pole. |
