OFT Stage 1 Gains on 2017 MY?

Hey guys,

I'm thinking about getting an OFT and going stage 1 (stage 2 later down the track) and I was just wondering what the performance gains were like on a 2017 model year. Couple of people have been saying the gains are quite minimal compared to the older models (2012-2016).

Gains are minimal, but it does help with the dip at 4-5000 RPM. It does smooth out the engine a bit too. I'd recommend doing the stage one for now, then after you get headers, if that is your plan, unmarry the tablet and get ECUTek so you can maximize tune gains. With OFT you'll get about 80% or so maximum gains compared to ECUTek. Unless you datalog, ROMRaider the OFT, but is that is another process in itself.

To clarify.
ECUTek so you can have someone do a custom tune, not just an off the shelf tune.

Yes, thank you. That is correct.

One benefit of the oft is you can switch from e85 to 98. Our e85 is good.

I wouldnt bother wasting money on engine gains. 500$ toward your engine will get you precisely nothing, but 500$ of tires or $500 of suspension will transform your car

OFT E85 and headers [emoji1786][emoji1786][emoji1786][emoji1786]

Agree with the $500 comment. I think I paid 600 AUD for my OFT and 750 AUD for my headers. Best. Value. Ever.

Let me tell you what needs to happen:

You' need to save your money and get an OFT and a set of UEL headers installed.

You need to ignore all the jibberjabber.

You then need to go to your nearest United servo and fill up with E85.

You need to follow the procedure and flash the applicable UEL E85 tune and then go for a nice, hard drive.

You're welcome.

Headers, OFT, and good Aussie e85 has got my vote
Tires, good shocks/CO`s, brakes and some track time with an instructor will be hardest to beat

Don't forget a 4.67 diff for an additional 15%( That's right folks, 15%) wheel torque.

What headers do you run? also catted or uncatted?

I plan to get an Ace EL header with over pipe, flex-fuel kit to take advantage of e85 when available, and tune (delicious tuning) after my powertrain warranty ends.

I have read that combo should get me at least 40 hp extra at the wheel, which is like 50 hp at the crank.

This combo is almost $4000. Please chime in if anyone has data to refute the above hp claims.

I think final drive upgrade is often overlooked. Increasing wheel torque always = faster accelerations.

I have a friend with a 2017 series.yellow.
I installed catted UEL headers and flashed the openflash tablet stage 1 map onto his car. The overall "GAINZ" may not be significant, but it definitely improved the area under the curve. I 100% advocate for the openflash tablet if you want to turn the car into something that seems willing without getting into expensive territory.
