It's an accessory from GST Gulf States Toyota, not a factory Toyota accessory.

part: 00012-L1306-01

It's actually the reset button for the ejector seat ;)

When I worked as a TV news photog, my news unit had a CB microphone mount on the dash left over from before we switched to cell phones. I had a "panic button" I bought from Sporty's Pilot Shop that fit right into that mic mount so that it looked like a guard to keep you from inadvertently pushing it.

A cute 20-something reporter saw it and said, "What does that do?"

"Push it and find out," I said.

When she pushed it, I screamed and slid my hands across the wheel as if I were making a "panic" turn.

She screamed and white knuckled the door handle.

I laughed.

She laughed and punched me in the arm.

Then we pulled over and made sweet giggling love in the back seat.

Okay that last part didn't happen, but everything else did up to getting punched in the arm.

It releases bug spray into the engine compartment to kill the crickets.

Thank you all for the replies and laughs, I honestly don't think it does anything, I'm guessing the old owner disconnected whatever it was hooked up to it.

Based on this slip you found and the description on it, it may be an aftermarket toggle switch for the toggling the DRL LED modes on the headlights.

Monograms come with the HID+LED headlights not found on the base model FRS's.

yes, it's a very common aftermarket switch, but the slip you found in the owners manual points to something like ^this^. anytime someone references DOT and switches, it's usually got something to do with lighting. i would also check if there's a rear fog light that it enables.

Pretty sure the the answer has been given a couple of times. Narf even gave the part numbers for the kit.
Somebody must have just pulled and sold the lights.

the non drift mode is to allow newbie drivers to deliver tofu without spilling the water.
The drift mode is for advanced drivers.

I guess the only definitive way to find out is to trace the wiring....
