Issue: Floppy Sun Visor Mirror Cover

1 Attachment(s)
When I tried to use my sun visor mirror today, the plastic cover/flpa just won't stay propped up (aside from being generally loose fitting).

I imagine the cover is supposed to stay open based on some kind of friction/interference mechanism that isn't working properly anymore.

I have been expecting this day to come. I noticed the staying power of the mirror cover getting weaker and weaker as the summers went on. I suspect some combination of the heat and having the visors down to prop my windowshade up managed to soften/warp the hinge/stay mechanism over time.

Anyone have experience with this happening? Any suggested fixes, other than replacing the visor?

Thanks!

Pop it off put a small piece of electrical tape around the lil hinges then pop it back in

I'll give it a shot, maybe see how I can modify or repair those retainer clips. Or give up and just use the tape like you suggested

Easy fix for me was 2 little squares of Velcro on each mirror. Problem solved

DAMNIT now I gotta go look!

Hang on a second.

EDIT: The Hakone has both. Not sure if the FRS did. I honestly didn't know they were there even though I use the visor all the time.
