Any MF Ghost readers here?
 

Title says it all. Did a few searches and I can't find a specific thread.

I learned about the FT86 cars from watching Initial D and went on to read MF Ghost, which is THE reason I bought a zenki firestorm 86.

Anyone keeping up with the manga? Just me? Probably just me...

I tried to find a translated version of the first volume to check it out and kind of just gave up. I didn't really try that hard. The synopsis of the series didn't really grab my attention.

Not really into manga. I would rather just watch anime.

Yeah, I get that. To be honest it's not as exciting as Initial D, but it is pretty cool to see things like Lamborghinis and Ferraris in touge battles, especially when I see the car that I drive everyday best them in some bs way (I can dream). I'd give it another shot though! It's got a slow start but it ramps up after the first battle.

Second you with the anime thing though. I can't get into the Initial D manga at all. The official translation is so bad, and even if it was good I think I'd still rather watch the anime haha

Hopefully MF Ghost gets an anime adaptation soon!

i was up to #45, and just sort of gave up. it was interesting, but seemed to force the predictable result instead of letting the magic build like initial d did.

Whenever I talk about Initial D, someone ALWAYS makes a d*ck joke. Thought it was annoying, but MF Ghost is actually impossible to talk about.


Also can I say d*ck on this forum? Is that against the rules??

I agree with that 100%. A lot of the battles in MF Ghost lack the charm that the races in Initial D had. It's a lot less grounded than Initial D was and honestly doesn't live up to the hype of it being a sequel.

It's still pretty fun though!

Are there really any aspects of street racing that weren't already covered in Initial D? The author kind of already shot his wad

Maybe they should some different areas of automotive culture... like maybe they could make an anime about hypermiling? that would be pretty exciting

I do that sometimes when it's a late night and it's not a long enough trip that I could make up the extra 3 minutes for a fuel stop... I stay out of the left lane though..
