who pooped in your cereal this morning? is doug your son/brother/husband?

doug was a very polarizing figure on jalopnik, back when he was trading cars every year, for da clicks. some of his earliest video's never really ranked all that highly. though it was a little comedic seeing the hummer h1 on a race track.

No. I just post videos some people might want to watch that is relative to the topic. Can't please everyone.

Here is another favorite channel of some here, which provides some historical information about Hummers:

See, Doug can be relatively calm, must have had some valium for this one.

Good information in general, and much the same thoughts I had when seeing the Hummer EV vs the Tesla CyberTruck release videos.

I won't be buying either but it's good to hear some comparisons of the two.

The second Hummer announcement is coming on 04/03/2021 at 6:00PM. They will be revealing the Hummer EV SUV and opening up preorders.

https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a3...-release-date/

The site will be the Hummer site, at least according the "Insider" email I received from GMC.

Well nothing too different in the release. The SUV is a little smaller than the truck, but slightly larger than the current Tahoe. Price matches the truck. at $80K, $90K and $100K depending on the trim. The top trims will be available in 2023 and the "low" trim will be available in 2024.

I meant to include, this appears to be a well put together piece of kit. I would definitely buy the low or mid spec version of the truck, before I bought the cybertruck. The SUV isn't 3 row, so the extra space doesn't really buy you much in my opinion.

GMC Has 77,000 Hummer EV Orders But Is Building Just 12 Per Day

General Motors’ first venture into the electric pickup truck space is shaping up to be quite a success as there are more than 77,000 people on the list for the GMC Hummer EV truck and SUV models.

However, those looking to purchase the Hummer EV could be in for a very long wait. In fact, it is understood that the factory handling production of the vehicle is currently building just a dozen units a day.

A company spokesman says this is nothing to be worried about. Speaking with The Wall Street Journal, the spokesman said the production ramp-up had been slower than normal because the truck has been developed from scratch with a new EV platform. Models currently built are also using battery cells sourced from LG Energy Solution but by late summer, the Hummer EV will start using cells manufactured at a Ohio facility that GM will operate alongside LG.

“Our ability to satisfy that demand is only going to improve as we bring on vertical integration of battery cell production,” the spokesman added. “You can expect to see hundreds of deliveries grow to thousands later this year.”

While GM’s production ramp-up is progressing slowly, both Ford and Rivian have been able to rapidly increase production of their electric trucks. Ford is said to be building roughly 150 units of its F-150 Lightning every day, despite only having started manufacturing the truck in April, some four months after Hummer EV production commenced. Rivian also managed to build approximately 2,500 R1T pickup trucks in the first quarter.

GM isn’t concerned that prospective Hummer EV buyers will jump ship to other brands. The aforementioned spokesman noted customers are willing to wait given the EV’s unique features, longer driving range, and faster charging times than some rivals. The automaker is also planning to sell fewer Hummer EV models than pickups available from its current rivals given its higher starting price.

I was playing around with GM's online Order/Reference Guide and noticed they've posted the "new" colors for the Hummer. GM is going outside the monotone palette for this which is nice.

It's a good thing Tesla is opening their network. The comments below the video echo this experience.

Not sure what was going on with the fast charger but the Hummer does have a HUGE ASS battery so it doesn't surprise me it takes a long time to charge. Also, besides being impacted by cold weather (a known issue with EV), he swapped out the tires which will hugely impact range (bigger tires = less miles).

But, he did nothing wrong.....

One could argue he messed up long ago.
