Difference in TRD Exhaust Parts

Hi,

Does anyone know the difference between the two TRD exhaust parts that are listed on Toyota's site?

PTR03-18170
https://www.trdusa.com/parts-detail....categories=all

PTR03-18190
https://www.trdusa.com/parts-detail....categories=all

Thanks,
cityxr

One fits 17+, the other fits Pre-17' models. The axleback to midpipe connection changed in 17'.

Edit: NVM they both list 17' compatibility. So :iono:

Both should work. Both seem to be not axlebacks, but complete catbacks, no? In such case, if one is using midpipe & axleback from set, it's normal that both can be fitted.

Perhaps one is a outdated part # ?

Doesn't make any sense based on photo provided. 2019 TRD 86 has a Different exhaust tips over standard TRD system.
No changes in fitment when catbacks are installed.

This ^
It could be as simple as a changed bolt which makes no difference at all. The price difference probably just reflects the old vs new listing.

Good points here. Thanks for taking a look!

The Bolts, I believe, are components of the Hardware Kit. So a change to any of those shouldn't change the part number of the Exhaust.

I honestly have no idea what the difference is.

Unless one of them is the Exhaust that came with the Release Series 1.0, and the photo is just not accurate.

I too was wondering the same thing. It looks like the cheaper one is for 2017+. Not sure if the link shows the difference, but it appears to be a bolt or some other connector that is different (shows up in green). WHY DOES THAT SMALL PART MAKE IT $200 LESS?!!!

Could I buy the cheaper exhaust and use the connectors from my stock exhaust?

Why do you want TRD? They drone with anything but stock Headers and FP.

they do however if you leave the stock headers it is a great sounding exhaust. I loved mine until headers. It’s for sale now

Both of those part numbers are for 2013+ FRS/86. You have to change the series from "86" to either FRS or all series to see the FRS years.

I'd guess one is just a new part number with an increased price.

So much overlap between those two lists. Doesn't make much sense.
